I don’t play turn-based games often so when I see this game or Baldur’s Gate 3 win all I think is that there are just way more turn-based gaming fans than I thought…or maybe their voice in gaming is louder cause they have too much to lose if their genre gets abandoned.

Former President of Nintendo Hiroshi Yamauchi once stated that Nintendo 64 had lost the console battle because "Japanese gamers like to be alone in their rooms and play depressing games".

A lot of turn-based games are exactly that (depressing) and Clair Obscure is right up there. I like Final Fantasy 7 but that shyt also has depressing elements so I understand.

I’m not gonna bash this game cause it won. I don’t care who won this year. I was mad when Baldur’s Gate 3 won though cause I thought that should’ve went to Tears of the Kingdom.

Part of why I like playing Zelda so much is Link will get put in depressing situations and STILL manages to have fun, fishing and fooling around because he’s an extension of the player. We have more freedom to not give a fukk. That’s why Zelda is superior.

Thread is about to become a brilliant study on who in here actually reads vs who just reacts to headlines and click bait. Carry on @Fatboi1 . I’ll allow it. :sas1:

Or maybe these games are just good and deserve the accolades maybe?

I hate it's fanbase and all of the pointless comparisons they make

That said, it's the best game I played in a long time

That’s always how it is though, elden ring and BG3 fans were super annoying the year they won also

And all these of those games are like my gotg so far

Sony stan’s luh cac opinions until they don’t luh them :mjlol:

I really enjoyed E33 one of my favorite games of the gen.

But the industry is so much influenced by hype/hate the shyt just snowballs into unreasonable territory.

The Game Awards is a popularity contest. The voters don’t even have to play all the games they are voting for/against.

Stanning E33 was the “in” thing to do this year. Same as Astrobot last year.

One day yall gone unplug from these cacs and just enjoy what you enjoy
