with years of media hype and the machine backing her up like Beyonce, I'd say yes. Vocally and looks wise there is not much separating them. If roles were reversed and Claudette came up in Destinys Child like Beyonce the world wouldn't have missed a beat.

Beyoncé is big because of her team. Sony made sure she got with the best songwriters/producers and video directors. The way she was set up she couldn't lose. Some would say in 01-02 her and Ashanti were neck and neck before the Jay-Z connection lifted her to Queen status. She had that Sony Machine behind her which is responsible for the constant radio play and constant video spins.

Truth. Cats acting like Beyoncé is a once in a lifetime talent/personality like Michael Jackson was.

What you're saying is basically the same as saying Lebron's AAU teammates should've had the same success as him since they had access to the same coaches and facilities since 10 years old. MJ was a natural and his talent/personality/look is what separated him from his siblings and peers. Beyoncé doesn't have anything that separates her from her peers besides that machine. She didn't separate herself via a signature Moonwalk or made world changing songs like "Man in the Mirror" that she wrote.

She had the machine that Michael built behind her. Put that same machine behind any pretty light skin chic that can sing and dance and you'll get the same result. Give Ciara the same exact machine and marketing dollars along with the Jay-Z association and the results are the same.

Where did I say she had no talent? My point is there is no great talent disparity between her and her peers. Nobody was saying there was a huge gap in talent between Beyoncé and Ashanti in 2002. Actually Ashanti writes her own music which increases her talent. Sony flood the airwaves with Beyoncé which is why you believe there is a huge talent disparity between her and a artist like Ciara.

Let's say Ciara got the same songs Sony's A&R's provided for Beyoncé, and made sure they got the same amount of spins, what do you think Ciara would have become?
