Rewatched Brockmire, a comedy on IFC from 2017-20
It’s a fun show starring Hank Azaria as the degenerate Brockmire, who disappeared for 10 years after having a meltdown on air caused by his wife’s infidelity. After spending a decade in Asia doing all kinds of drugs and sleeping with countless prostitutes, he tries to make a comeback in the USA as a broadcaster.
The show maintains a dirty sense of humor while shifting into more serious territory such as addiction, intergenerational trauma from child abuse, cancer, etc….The last season takes a wild turn as there is a time jump and then it goes into more of apocalyptic sci-fi. This happened to took place right when COVID hit. It didn’t like this season at first, but I appreciated it more on second watch.
Joe Buck is in a few episodes and is pretty funny. Bob Costas is also in a couple of episodes, talking about his pink eye.
I recommend it if you like baseball and/or irreverent humor
