"FLUKE" LOL

HIS SECOND OPTION WAS BJ ARMSTRONG AND HE TOOK THE KNICKS TO 7 GAMES IN THE EC SEMI-FINALS

THE KNICKS LOST IN 7 GAMES VS HOUSTON IN THE FINALS THAT YEAR

THAT WAS PIPPENS ONLY CHANCE TO LEAD A TEAM IN HIS PRIME

U WASNT THERE IN REAL TIME IF U DONT THINK
HE WAS LEGIT

that phantom foul that was called on pip against hubert davis cost the bulls a chance to go to the finals in 1994 as well.

Pippens entire career exists as a chess piece to use to bump or dump other better players’ legacies.

I’ll take Kawhi because he actually did it as the main guy and we don’t have to use hypotheticals.

Kawhi is basically Scottie Pippen with Kevin Durant-level shooting/scoring

He's leagues above Scottie, with top tier playoff performances vs the Grizz (30ppg vs the Grit n Grind), 76ers (35ppg vs Butler, Embiid, Simmons), Bucks (30ppg vs Giannis, Khris), and Mavericks 2x (30ppg vs Luka, KP), most of which leading his teams to WCFs or an NBA championship...

...whereas ppl still for some reason confuse Scottie losing in the semi-finals in 1994 with being one win a way from the NBA Finals; as if that's some type of accomplishment losing in heart break in the 3rd to last round of a 4-round playoff tournament.

Kawhi's been robbed of quite a few playoff runs. The 2017 and 2021 postseasons are the biggest what ifs.

Not saying they would have defeated GS in 2017 but nobody really talks about them being up 20 at halftime with Kawhi torching the Dubs in game one. I don't feel bad for the Spurs that Zaza stepped under Kawhi and fukked up his ankle because Bowen was doing that for over a decade but everyone was on alert at halftime of that game.

2021 was the Clips team that got to the WCF after he got injured through four games against Utah. Who would have picked Phoenix over them in the WCF with a healthy Kawhi?

Kawhi can do nearly everything Pippen could, Pippen couldn’t do everything Kawhi could. Identical wingspan as Pippen, as great defensive instincts, Pippen had better assist numbers but Kawhi has some great vision, BBIQ, etc. However, the midrange, tricky handle/hesi game, etc. were never something Pippen had.

Kawhi was just more effective as a heliocentric player: give him the ball and he’d either score effectively or set someone else up. The 1a on a Championship team.

Kawhi is the better player, go rewatch his 2019 playoffs run to remind yourself. Now you can make a rankings argument since Kawhi has barely played and Pippen has had an impressive career.

In a way, Kawhi’s injuries changed nba narratives and discourse several times over.

Giannis is the biggest beneficiary of course. But ask yourself, why do ppl call the ‘17 GSW the greatest team of all time? Bc of their playoff record. But that Spurs team healthy were comparable to that ‘18 Rockets that took that same KD/Steph/Klay/Dray core to 7. They were favorites but never as invincible as perceived.

Hell… Luka finally beating the Clippers and making it to the Finals in the same playoff run... him and Kyrie would’ve been a tandem that had a 38 win season followed by a 1st round exit in back to back years, instead they have a narrative defining playoff run.
