Been to a few Pacers games. The fans go crazier when Hansbrough comes off the bench than when the starting lineup is announced.

can people quit with all the klan shyt......Indianapolis is no more racist than YOUR city is. in fact your city is probably worse. places like Chicago, LA, Boston, Philly yall act like you're in a utopia or some shyt. yall know how black folks are treated/profiled in your city but we always get the klan label while yall have secret klan supporters walking by you in silence everyday and all throughout your police force. LA is one of the most segregated cities in the country by neighborhoods. i'm black and no black person living in Indianapolis is even thinking or worrying about the klan. you have no idea what you're even talking about.

the brawl was one thing that turned alot of fans off ok but after the brawl what happened? we SUCKED....for many seasons.

the Colts don't have anything to with it, Pacers were eatin good while Peyton was doing his thing before the brawl. it's the fact that after the brawl nobody knew who the players were!! every season you got all these new players coming and then guys leaving in the off season, it was like a revolving door and if you asked a random person on the street to name our starting 5 they couldn't do it! NOW people can name our starting 5. there's familiarity with the team again and we're making the playoffs again so just give it time and the fans will be back.

Colin Cowherd doesn't know what the fukk he's talking about. if you asked him to name our starting 5 from 5 years ago he couldn't do it and that's my point. people here couldn't do it either. THAT's why people stopped going to games. in the next season or 2 the attendance numbers will be back where they should be.

In the 1920's, D.C. Stephenson was a Grand Dragon in the KKK and was over 22 northern states, and he was based in Indiana. Stephenson lived in Irvington, which has since been annexed into the city of Indianapolis. He was a major player in the KKK during the time in which it had the highest membership (membership in the Klan was between 3,000,000 and 6,000,000 from 1920 - 1925 according to Wikipedia

May not be the birthplace...But its damn sure the home...:shaq:

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
When the NBA started to become more and more dominated by blacks, and with the emergence of the great white hope (Peyton Manning), the white folks in Indianaapolis were looking for reasons to justify them turning their backs on the Pacers.

Let's not forget, they hated Reggie's black guts because they drafted him instead of that white boy.

i always wished stephen a. would have really said his point about luck/rg3

he always said it was a better fit and explained chocolate city. he said following peyton, luck would fit the city better. what he was saying is... those white people up there won't give rg3 a chance. he comes in with his braids and dark skin and they don't win. they're gonna want his head. especially following good old boy peyton manning.

luck was the young white proper dude like peyton that they would give multiple chances. he just happened to do great in his first year as did rg3. but in dc rg3 gets the same respect. cause its a majority black city and they'd ride for him and welcome him even if they lost his first year

in other words... even he knows that's a racist or at least very white bias town

Indiana is a basketall town just college not pro.Philly is not a basketball town the eagles own the city

The Sixers are historically the least popular pro team in that city overall

homie, im from philly. ITS A BASKETBALL CITY.

the actual city itself is a basketball city.

the attendance figures and all that stuff that youre looking at is largely a product of people outside of philly. it doesnt make sense to say that teams like the flyers & phillies are more popular than the 76ers when philadelphia is a hood city.

i'll give you the eagles but alot of that has to do with tthe fact that they usually keep a better product going. but when the sixers are rockin, its a different story. iverson owned this city the entire time he was here.

Its called economics. Have you ever priced an NBA ticket? Most blacks cant afford to go, especially in poor towns like Detroit, Philly and the black parts of Washington. Most blacks in Atlanta are gay, and most gays dont really watch basketball like that. Perhaps if the players were daisy dukes we could get the attendance up....:pachaha:

powerful posting.

people need to start taking the bigger picture in consideration when they talk about these things.

it's simple in the other three sports league in America not named the NFL, you have to win and win big frequently to get great attendance

basically. the NFL runs this sports chit.

it doesnt mean that every city is a football city. they just generate the most money. its clearly the biggest sport in america.

Kravitz is a good writer, too. I'm looking forward to reading.

read his article. Its bullshyt.

He said that if for the next 3 years the pacers are still good and fans still dont come then he'll revisit COlin's point.

He ignores teh fact that the Pacers have been good for the past 3 years :heh:

He also used Atlanta as argument against Colin while ignoring that Atlanta doesn't have INdy's basketball history.

I'm surprised he didn't use Obama to dismiss Colin's race argument. And Colin didn't even call Indiana people racist, he said race was a reason why people dont go to games. :mjpls:

:whoa:

in those markets, the tickets are actually reasonably priced. nowhere like here in the chi or LA or for the knicks games, where you're dropping like $60 minimum to have standing room tickets in the nosebleeds. those tickets typically can be found for under $5 in those markets.

What the title means is: Indiana is allegedly not supporting the Pacers because their market is racist.

It was just communicated incorrectly by the OP (and others).
