But Chicago doesn't have one, therefore they've been losing out to Indy for the last few years :manny:

Chicago should have threw soldiers field in the bushes years ago now they're missing out because of it
yeah, I agree.

Its the same thing here in the DC area. I think Snyder is going to push hard for a dome when the Redskins move back to DC. He wants Final 4s and a Super Bowl.

Having a retractable roof adds so much versatility so your venue, you can host concerts, conventions, motocross/destruction derby's, animal shows at any time of the year. Plus the option of possibly having a Superbowl/Final Four. The stadium can make money year round vs just during Football season like at Soldier Field. Chicago's local government should of had the foresight to get a domed stadium in the City they closed the doors to a lot of opportunities by not making that move.

Exactly Philly didnt sell out finals games when they had Dr J alot of cities just aren big nba towns

philadelphia is a basketball city tho.

i cant speak on the dr j stuff. thats before my time.

whats the excuse for teams like Detroit, Atlanta, Philly and Washington having poor attendance then??

sure indianapolis is a pretty white city, but those other cities aint. Why aren't all the black "fans" there supporting those teams??

Cacs huh?

:usure:

Atlanta ain't good??

They've been a top 3-5 team for awhile now.

Philly was in the playoffs last year and are in the hunt this year as well.

Just Sayin'

Indianapolis is also one of the smaller markets in the NBA

its not the same without those good ole white dollars.

besides, none of those teams are doing well, with the exception of atlanta(which i dont think is a basketball city, and it seems to be an overall lackluster sports town).

but when the sixers are hot, the fans show up. if you watch sixers games regularly, youll prolly notice that the attendance goes up-n-down right along with the teams' record. then when the squeak in the playoffs in april, like they normally do, the place is rockin.

Have you seen a Pacer game? I love George I love Granger, Hill, Lance, West, etc., but collectively they are boring as fukk if we're gonna be honest. It's not as if Indiana is tuning out Lob City.

That said, it's Indiana /B1G country. They should be used to watching struggle ball.

this team is a helluva lot more exciting than what they had there for the past 6 years.

Indiana is a basketall town just college not pro.Philly is not a basketball town the eagles own the city

The Sixers are historically the least popular pro team in that city overall

Its called economics. Have you ever priced an NBA ticket? Most blacks cant afford to go, especially in poor towns like Detroit, Philly and the black parts of Washington. Most blacks in Atlanta are gay, and most gays dont really watch basketball like that. Perhaps if the players were daisy dukes we could get the attendance up....:pachaha:

Nap is racist as fukk bruh. I'm just being real.

Plus, it's a racecar town. Buncha honkies that just wanna go fast. It ain't all because the players are black, it's because them crackas don't like basketball.

If you go all the way south, they support the college. Indianapolis is known for the 500. The people in the city don't follow hoops enough to know what it's like so they just talk out they ass.

If Jesus and his 12 disciples had a team in Indiana, half them honkies wouldn't know it, and the other half would talk about how they aint going to, "watch no ******ball"

well gotdamn

it's simple in the other three sports league in America not named the NFL, you have to win and win big frequently to get great attendance

people are attracted to stars in sports...The Pacers dont have anyone that non basketball fans would know.
Thats probably the main problem.
Dunno if it's the "main" problem, but I generally co-sign this. I have to think the casual fan would be hard pressed to recognize or even name Granger, George, Hibbert etc.

I appreciate how good a team (emphasis on team) they are, though. Not always pretty or smooth, but solidly effective...and successful. But solidly effective doesn't sell to the casual basketball fan, I guess.

Far as the racism angle, well, I just hope that's not the case, at least not entirely.

:russ: Colin stays going in on white people. I don't agree with him on some things but dude keeps it trill. I remember when he going in in Boston and their racist history with athletes from initial treatment of Bill Russell to the Red Sox not having a black player until the 80s.
