I miss the old cast. I used to just walk around the neighborhood for hours listening to Combat, Pete, Dallas, Matt Raz etc talk shyt. Yea this made interviews too chaotic but I had hoped they'd do something like have the first 30-40 minutes be fukkery and then do the interview with just Combat asking questions and making Dallas or Penn interjecting here or there. That shyt was fun and it kept Combat grounded.
The thing I hate, which he's been doing for years, is how scatter brained he handles things. For instance how many times does this happen:
Combat: So how did you meet such and such
Guest: Well before I moved to NY I lived in Texas and -
Combat: what was Texas like growing up man
Guest: Texas was cool. My grandma was from Haiti so -
Combat: you ever been to Haiti?
Let people speak man. If they're telling a story you don't gotta interrupt. Take notes and then ask side questions after they finish their original thought/story.
Rosenberg does this too, but he makes it worse by going on tangets that aren't connected to the guest. Like the guest will mention he was in Queens and suddenly Rosenberg gotta ask Juan a random personal question like "btw Juan remember that guy in Queens, the laundry guy? Did you give him the quarters? Word? Ok. Sorry, ok tell us how you produced on Illmatic."
Lmao
