Some low standards for what's considered beautiful these days.

There's no winning with some people. Either your clothes are too big and you're infantilizing yourself or your clothes are too tight and you're feminizing yourself.
Re read that man's post.
If that's all you got from it you may be the problem

I read it, it's still dumb bullshyt. So you're telling me that there's this attempt by whites to take over hip-hop and they're doing it through feminizing men. Also they're able to accomplish this because whites already own hip-hop so they control the rappers, who have no agency of their own and have to do everything their overlords say. So at the same time that whites own rap, they're trying to take control of it because some dumb shyt.

If people had any sense, they'd see that vlad and all these other things giving chucklefukks like Lord Jamar a platform are making a pretty penny of this shyt. He's the crazy homeless dude ranting to himself except they've decided to give him exposure because he's sure to say something outrageous and people can't help but be outraged, no matter what the fukk the outrage is about. Him and his ilk are like Rorschach in Watchmen, stuck in their idealized pasts and archaic viewpoints.

You seem like a an articulate guy. I guess we just have different view points.

I hate when rap is written about by these outsiders in A tongue in cheek way where the culture is just made to look like a complete joke. The rappers that are being celebrated and championed...

My perspective is that some vocal people have latched on to the most outdated aspects of the Black Power politics of the 1960s and 70s, particularly the not-all-that progressive attitudes towards gender and sexuality. They look back at those times, they see the revolutionary figures and they think they gotta be twice as outspoken in order to break any ground. As such, their attitudes towards gender and sexuality have to be more hardcore. It becomes almost the fulcrum by which they define their politics. My Rorschach comparison wasn't just random, the point of that character is that he refuses to compromise on his position and he ends up dead because of it. The argument is that this refusal to compromise will ultimately doom conservatives.

This isn't me saying that everyone should be wearing skirts, this is me saying that these philosophies have to adapt according to major changes in society, almost like how post-modernism is a reaction to what came before. Either these dudes have to find different ways of arguing their positions or they have to accept that their positions are ancient. It's not the 1970s anymore, looking at the world through a 1970s lens is useless.

Same here, I'm very concerned about the ways that media affects the national subconscious, so to speak. I think there's room to criticize outsiders coming and acting like they know shyt, as well as these people that claim to have the best intentions.

The whole concept of "don't worry about anyone else" or "If they're wearing it how does it affect you" is laughable.

Black Americans are literally the only one's who are told this. Whites, Jews,Asians etc all stick together for the most part as a supportive community. They ain't about to be looked at as clowns regardless of who doesn't like them.

With us it's "no ok boy you can let these folks walk around looking like fools, it shouldn't affect you"

Yeah fukking right. That's like saying the media doesn't affect anything. It's not a tool used to alter perception.

People get killed over perceptions. Lose opportunities over perceptions. I'm against the thought that for a black man to be able to be "safe" He has to be totally non aggressive and feminized.

i agree with all that.

also this whole whitewashing of urban culture is at a all time high.just saw that big smo thread , the article on iggy running rap complex pushing only the white or white user-friendly black artist and shytting on everything strong.black artist lining up to do joints with justin bieber n miley just to catch a look. they gonna turn hiphop into rock&roll to where in 20 years the origins will be totally lost.we will once again be a minority in some shyt that we started.shyt is sad actually.just like these old rnb motown type acts whose songs still getting placements in commercials and movies but children of old jewish record exects are the ones seeing those checks.you even got confused black folks trying to say hiphop isnt black culture and that its for everybody.will lynch symdrom like a mf

im rambling but fukk it this whole shyt is wack.we create the culture art, music, slang, style and they monetize it and eat.even nike got shirts in footlooker talking about swaggin etc fukk them cacs know about swaggin?they eating off that but i bet a kid from the hood cant even get a intership at nike . nikkas is getting robbed for the little bit of culture that we have in broad daylight
