It’s not my favorite beat by any means but I really don’t get the drumless criticism on this one. The kicks are solid and the snare drum isn’t banging you over the head but it’s definitely there. I listen to this in the car about an hour ago and it didn’t sound light.

I just don’t think the beat is that special from the sample choice perspective, but the drums weren’t too bad.

Gotcha. I was listening thru my phone speakers so I guess I didn't get the full effect.

Tical is a classic though. His followups just never lived up to his potential. He could have been king of NY at one point.

Tical is a classic. May not be on the level as the rest of the first Wu single albums but it's definitely a standout from that era and from the biggest member of the Wu at that time. And I think Meth album catalog is much better than people gives it credit. Tical is a classic and Tical 2000 and 4:21 are really dope albums. The only dud...and it was a BIG dud...was Tical 0. Meth catalog gets shytted on because Meth is so dope most heads thought that he was gonna have several classics and at least one on the level of the GOATS (Doggystyle, Illmatic, Ready to Die, etc...).

dope

i think this will surprise, was getting too much mediocre Con during 17-19 but i dug Look What I Became and Lulu

I don't think his run from that time was mediocre but I def get what you saying. I can see Con's growth. I like that he's crafting more verses that isn't just touching on guns, drugs and violence. I guess he heard the criticism.

he even addressed it in a song. you cant make The Cow every time out, but there was mad verses with filler about young shooters/drums etc

thought he sounded the best on EIF 1 and Became

Is Ticsl really a classic? I say this as someone that bought it 3x. Cassette. CD. And again when the CD scratched.

But it’s a 4 mic album. It’s probably the worst of the original 5 Wu solos. It’s fun to debate it with ODB’s solo, but Ironman, Swords, and Linx are all clearly a level up.

Tical is dope but to call it a true classic is warping the definition.
