Trump's base stagnated after Nov 9, 2016. It hasn't grown anymore and I dare say it declined (gradually). It may be dedicated, but that same dedicated base lost a lot of Governor seats, lost The House of Representatives, and soon going to lose the Senate and the White House. The post-Trump Republican party is going to look all kinds of dysfunctional and may go to the Whig Party status.
it's gonna be pretty interesting, and it depends on if he wins or loses in november

on the inside right, there's gonna be a lot of people who are embarrassed that they went along with trumpism and want to get back to moderate mike pence types. on the far right, they're gonna be calling for blood and want the republicans to run candidates that make trump look like mother teresa. hopefully the party tears itself apart

The levels of precaution being taken is impressive. Temp and qr (personal identity) scan to enter the subway. Then another when boarding a specific car so later they can trace individuals that may have been exposed to the virus should there be a confirmed case in the vicinity :whoo:

The seeds were set for the future in the 2010 Midterm Elections. The Tea Party popped up, and the Republicans saw them as the fuel for election victories. The 2012 victory of Barack made the Republicans lean more towards the Right, casting out any Moderates.

When Trump joined the election in 2015, he wiped out the entire Republican base. Jeb Bush and Kasich, the two more moderate of the candidates, were wiped out quickly. Marco Rubio was too young. Ted Cruz is just loathed in the Senate.

Its 2020, and as of now. Who is the Republican Party? Mitch McConnell is probably the only name who people will realize. Mitt Romney would never have the shot, because of one thing, their party appeals to the populace of uneducated, whites.

No matter how hard Republicans try to turn left, they are aligned themselves with a racial, xenophobic, uneducated base; short term gains with no long term prospects. It will be a split in the future with Democratic Socialists and Conservative Democrats, with Republicans either adapting Conservative Democrats, or the party being rejected by both and becoming a third party.

In terms of elections they can still win congressional seats, but in terms of presidential aspirations its basically over.

Yeah, them short term rabid gains will harm them in the long run, and now even losing governor seats down south  .

The key is to vote for sure. I think with all of the yelling and shouting of politics, and having racists talking about to not politicize everything, has actually helped jump start the Democratic base to not just vote in presidential elections but all midterms and any other downvotes.

Because we have the numbers, its just a matter of giving a shyt.

Pope Francis is calling to end global inequality in the wake of the “time of trial” caused by the coronavirus pandemic: “We are all frail, all equal, all precious. May we be profoundly shaken by what is happening all around us. The time has come to eliminate inequalities, to heal the injustice that is undermining the health of the entire human family.”

Pope Francis on Sunday called for the faithful to resolve to end global inequality in the wake of the “time of trial” caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
