They should’ve blown up big with what they put out there so the answer is no.

Who got the props
I got cha open remix
Bucktown
Operation lockdown
and the ones I missed were big records. They did their MF thing but it would’ve been hard for them to do what Wu Tang did

while they have dope beats, they dont have a Rza let along a competent crew of complimentary "rzas"

a legendary (in the classic sense of the word) figure like odb

a ghostface

A man both the ladies love and could come to the dirtiest hoods and get love- Method

they got logos but the iconography game dont compare

just branding as a whole. Their NAMES are larger. more enigmatic...magnetic

Bcc has generic stock names. Buckshot. tec. steele. roc. ruck. Tupac couldn't be tupac without his name. Muhammad Ali couldn't be the figure he was if his name was Tom Jones. People in congo thought Ali was fighting a white man for a while for instance (George foreman)

difficult to compare them... it can get to the point where it'll sound like undermining BCC and that aint the point. Wu tang was like lightening in a bottle

I never liked the "I bomb atomically" sh*t, lol. Thought it was corny.

Deck's best verse was on "Above the Clouds" and "C.R.E.A.M".

But on the OGC album, if you just ignore Top Dog and Louisville, you can hear that Starang was nice AF! Dude was just in a weak group. But bar for bar, much better than Deck.
WILIN'. Starang is andalways dope, but this is crazy.
it wasnt even beatminerz imo. cause to your point heltah skeltah proved they didnt need them on multiple albums.

what i remember (and someone please correct me if i'm off) is after the OGC album, they had a window where they got a little experimental with the production. and it just wasn't stacking up against all the other monster shyt that dropped that year. big's second album. wu-tang forever. missy's first joint. harlem world. royal flush. one day it will all make sense. epmd's comeback. soul assassin's. busta dropped "put your hands where my eyes can see" and took over the club. shyt, that was the year will smith came back and was shaking shyt. there was a LOT of comp.

the other piece was pac's death. that look could've took them to a whole other level, but they didn't get a chance to benefit from the alley oop.

they eventually got back to what works. but by then no one was putting them on wu's level.
The price of sampling (they admitted this in interviews, commercial appeal, and likely some personal shyt was the downfall. All the post Beatminerz BCC albums lacked the cohesive, lush sound. They would probably never sniff Wu level success, but if they stuck to their sound, their catalogs would be much stronger. An updated Beatminerz could kill today in the new Boom Bap underground era.

I could have sworn it was because Buckshot was interning at a label, maybe Nervous while shopping for a deal and they linked up. Dru rapping on Black Moon's album was so weak I'm glad he gave it up.

Nah. Boot Camp didn’t have someone like Method Man that did that relationship joint with Mary J. Smiff and Wesson might have been the only BCC members with commercial appeal.
