Sony and its current state of affairs. Currently, sony is in BIG trouble financially.
How big? Well, people are saying RIP Sony
But, to counter that the local sony stan errr fans will say "Its only the TV and PC divisions, the gaming department is doing fine!!!"

I've heard that a lot recently but I know that info contradicts reality something fierce

The plan was to avoid such a loss at all cost. So where did these losses come from exactly?
Well, videogames don't sell very well on sony consoles. Especially first party games
Sony has been closing all its major 1st party studios because of losses from games being in development hell
And the fact its still happening, and sales are still not that good can only lead to one thing

How many PS3's has sony actually sold bruh?
PS4's are selling faster than any console EVER
PS3 meanwhile was getting outsold by Xbox something crucial during the last years
So how did sony sell over 2million more consoles last year?

So to stay true to this threads topic, I'll add one of my own

Sometimes I don't tell the whole truth to things.. usually on purpose
And that really irritates some posters. So let me open up about one Arcadium Lie
The 1080p vs 720p battle (which of course thus spills into the console war)
1080p is better than 720p.. FACT
But it is also fact that not every 1080p TV is better than every 720p television
If your 1080pTV doesn't do a 240hz refresh rate, then your 1080p TV =
Now I'm talking strictly from a "I can see the difference" standpoint.
The other factors is distance from TV, pixel densitiy/etc.

So with everything alined properly, yes, a 1080p image can be stunning compared to a lesser quality image
But... at the end of the day, both consoles are capable of achieving that holy grail. How they achieve is different
And while one group will like to act as if one way is better, eventually both will reach that mark every time.
Til then, there are a few games that have a higher NATIVE resolution on PS4 over XB1
Battlefield 4 comes to mind, 7-something P on XB1 and 900p on PS4
Most reviewers say they both look identical, but the PS4 version appears a lil more clear in certain parts
I played the PS4 version and didn't notice anything different
The first time I noticed a difference? I played the XB1 version on a extremely nice 1080p 3D 240hz refresh rate Samsung TV
My Xbox automatically upscales to 1080p, and the way the game looked on that TV?
Well, there was a clear difference. And every once in a while, the screen would freeze for a mili-second then be smooth again.
My guess.. maybe on PS4 it doesn't freeze like that? (or as often?)

But the picture was nice. And I am now ready to upgrade my TV to a similar spec'd TV

But, as I was quick to say it was the TV, further research shows that while that has some to do with it
There's other factors that made that image possible. For one, the XB1 has this advanced upscaler
But it has outdated drivers and in its current state is more of a deterrent than something helpful
They released a patch to fix this, but its still not ready for prime time
So in the meantime developers have to come up with custom solutions. Dice (BF4) created there game on Direct.X so they had custom stuff in place already that helps for there game

Of course, some developers are already working around this issue. Titles like Battlefield 4 are using custom upscaling implementations, so they bypass Microsoft’s quirks completely. It’s definitely easier to use the Xbox One’s built-in upscaling, but the extra work makes for a much better finished product

By this time next year, I expect every game to run native 1080p (well not every MMO which should be more popular on consoles this gen)
But how many of you will really be able to take advantage of the image quality?
If you rockin a Vizio, you probably ain't ready is all I'm sayin
