New York City’s subway crisis started with Robert Moses

:pacspit: that elitist fukk Robert Moses, can't believe he had that much power back in the 50s without holding a political title. All of the infrastructure problems in NYC is mostly on him.
What a piece a shyt he was. He's the reason the Dodgers moved to Los Angeles and he basically built the Cross Bronx right through residential areas where Black and Latino people lived..

What a dirt bag

:dwillhuh: On Monday morning, Mayor Bill de Blasio unveiled details for the “millionaires tax” proposal that he alluded to over the weekend. The mayor’s proposal calls for a 0.534 percent increase on the income tax rate for incomes above $500,000 for individuals, and $1 million for couples. That constitutes less than 1 percent of the city’s taxpayers or about 32,000 people, according to the Mayor’s office.

.534% will raise 700million:dwillhuh:

.534% :dwillhuh:

bro! you know what I'm saying :what:

.5 gets us 700millie....muhfukka let's up this bytch to 1% and get it crackin

this is absolutely absurd

I simply cannot wrap my mind around the idea that prior to today, the mayor knew that he could raise $700million annually and didn't

that's crazy to hear, i haven't spent significant time (more than a couple days) in NY since 2012, but every time i've been there i always marveled at how efficient (and expansive) the subway system was. i hate our train system out here. sad to see the model pub trans system has fallen apart

He does. He has close ties with real estate developers hence why his affordable housing program is a fukking joke. People think NYC is progressive but the rich here are hard core republicans. I mean we had 2 terms of Giuliani and 3 terms of Bloomberg. Basically 22 years of right wing policies is why the city is in terrible shape.
