I think everyone deserves free college even DACA recipients. However, the ball needs to be rolling for American citizens first then you can start thinking about DACA recipients.

That's only way they can get the people on their side with this. They have to have had free college for a couple years for citizens.

No... They should be priced fairly though
I said tuition, not the entire college experience, books, housing, other fees would still have to be paid

Tuition is free in many European countries.

It's the only way we can prepare for a future with automation taking jobs.

i live in nyc, and I've been against the Excelsior program since it was introduced, mainly because not only would I or my children not qualify for it, but we'd also have to pay for it via higher taxes. Nothing is really "free" here, and the entitlement of its recipients is quite sickening--but then again, when you see what they stand for on other issues, then it really isn't surprising. but then again, I didn't vote for Cuomo anyway and that's about all the say that I had in the matter.

As for DACA recipients getting in on the program, it just seems to go against what the States priorities should be, and it also comes off as one of those 'foot in the door' policies. DACA folks are a very specific subset of "illegals", but I could definitely see this segwaying into other illegals (true violators of federal laws) as a wedge to include them and all in order to gain political capital for career climbing politicians on the left.

THEYRE NOT CITIZENS!!!!!!
You fukking dumbass missed the point that I was contesting. He's acting like this is only for DACA people, when citizens have had free tuition for over a year. We really need an IQ test before people sign up on here.

Either free or Reasonable priced college. Is fair.

I'm with you on pricing but free ?

I said tuition, not the entire college experience, books, housing, other fees would still have to be paid

I'm in Europe right now, each country is different ... It might be free in Finland but everything is in Finnish

England is $15-25k a year but they forgive all debt if you cant find a job in 5 years.

Spain is like 5-10k a year

I'd advocate a reduction in tuition but an all out free for all ? :why:
