I severely doubt that. Not saying it's impossible but remember when he bought Dame Dash out of Rocafella he broke Dame off somewhere in the neighborhood of 250 million.

I don't know how true that is.

Maybe this will give everybody a little perspective on what went down with that from Dame's perspective.

Rocawear talk starts at 1:45

I fixed my quote, I meant 25, my phone put out 250. But either way, I think Jay is worth more than 15 million of the music alone.

I really don't know breh.

Not really into pocket watching, just pointing out what Sc00n was saying.

I've looked at Jay funny every since I watched how the whole Roc-A-Fella thing went down, and how he made Dame out to be the bad guy when Dame spent 15 years protecting him from the same cacs Jay ended up running to.

And how he fronted that whole time like he was a major owner of the Nets and let himself be used just to push the Barclay Center's construction being finished when the residents of that neighborhood were gaining traction in their fight against the stadium before he signed on.

Nothing he said is false
Jay is driven by money
He'll do anything if it means a significant cheque and "bragging" rights to the culture.
I think thats one of the more underrated reasons as to why him and dame broke up

Dame wanted to keep everything in house and had a us vs them mentality. Jay on the other hand enjoys hanging out with rich white dudes and isnt as independent as he likes to portray.

He's too focused on another man's life....nikka spent a whole week tweeting about the next man's paper.

Perhaps he should get a life of his own instead of being a bitter Twitter troll.

He spends most of his life talking/thinking about other men :yeshrug:

Its really weird for a guy to ask why we worship money and care so much about it but he's tweeting about how much money a guy does or doesn't have. If money isn't important then we shouldn't give it this much focus, right? Curtis included?

Jay-z and Beyonce probably are worth a billion between them. If they aren't? Man that 800 million is a far cry. Hope Jay-z can cope and live life as happy as Curtis Sc00n

There's a difference between getting up to go to work and the rigors of touring when you're damn near 50 with a wife and 2 kids.

If I were a billionaire with a wife and kids, the last thing I would be doing would be doing is spending my time touring. Having to travel city to city, dealing with jet lag, rehearsal, sound check, performance.......fukk all that if you're truly a billionaire. Going to the office and running businesses, that makes sense......touring, fukk no.

You think Dr. Dre wants to fukking tour right now? You barely see that guy.
That only makes sense if music isn't truly your passion.

Other people could be bill gates rich and they would still go out and perform because they love it.

The same way an engineer who owns a successful business or who has sold/created a product which made him millions will likely continue to create a d design because that's what they feel driven to do.

Right now none of those are outside of em is in demand. We all saw Ross BM expose 50, if he could get a 150 mill front from somebody to make albums and tour he would.

Cause he’s getting lower value for his straight to dvd movies deal he did. 50 loss like 100 pounds for a straight to dvd movie where he had fake dreds and played a cancer patient.

And jay ain’t tour often like that, only really does it when he has a album and this is the perfect time to do one with his wife and both they albums just dealth with they marriage heavy.

There’s going to be new material for this tour

I actually agree that Sc00n is out of pocket here but the touring thing is bizarre breh

Why on God’s earth would a billionaire still go to work? I can see still making music

That’s clearly your life’s purpose

But you no longer do music videos
Formally release singles

Why Tour?

Vanity and obligations

Music can be your passion and you can record in the studio but touring is absolutely grueling. I don't think you understand how tough it is on your body to travel city to city living out of hotels for months at a time.

I've been on tour as a DJ. My mentor is a famous DJ. It's mind boggling that anyone who's a BILLIONAIRE and damn near 50 would still have the desire to tour especially with kids at home.........unless they absolutely had to to maintain their lifestyle.

My man’s voice is shot.. I saw him on the MCHG tour in 2013

I wouldn’t pay money for it anymore.. it’s not the same.

Some brehs brought up some really good/fair points about why he would still tour. I just don’t agree with them given my analysis of the situation.

Curtis Sc00n is way out of pocket talking about Jay’s business on Twitter.

Now my wife may want to see Beyoncé.... :manny:

You think Dr. Dre wants to fukking tour right now? You barely see that guy.

So weird how people hold black artists to random standards no one else is held to. Jay Z is an artist first. He's still releasing music, still recording. Dr Dre hasn't been fully focused on music in years, hasn't released a proper album in years, and doesn't even write his own music.

Why would Hov pass on tens of millions of dollars from touring? No one asks the Rolling Stones why they're still touring. In fact, as of July 2017 the top ten tours by revenue that year were:

  • $151.5million – Guns N’ Roses
  • $118.1million – U2
  • $98.2million – Justin Bieber
  • $88million – Metallica
  • $68.2million – Depeche Mode
  • $60.5million – Red Hot Chili Peppers
  • $59million – Adele
  • $57.2million – Ed Sheeran
  • $54.5million – Eric Church
  • $52.7million – Bruno Mars

Half the list is made up of legacy acts. Half the list are dudes in their 50s and 60s, still touring. Bono has significantly more money than Hov or Beyonce and still tours. You'd never hear anyone say "Bono needs to stop touring and get his paper" or "why is Bono slaving for Ticket Master."
:francis:

Some people like their job. Some people like touring. There's nothing wrong with it.
