Yep she spent the last few years getting favors and cashed them all in to get this.

She could have ran for mayor but went for this instead because it was going to be a lot easier.

I can't imagine a woman mayor.

:ohlawd::whew:

I think she'll do well for NYS. She had a lot of balls to make the stands she did on housing.

Honestly I could see it, but a black woman mayor..... That would be tough. NYC is still sexist and segregated at its core.

Plus she didn't have great charisma. She made the right choice, though you know she agreed to not to look into Cuomo's dirt to get it.

Im happy the IDC lost but whats to stop Cuomo from making some other corrupt group? What are the implications of most of the IDC going down but Cuomo still being in charge?

Did you really get your hopes up breh? I never thought she was gonna win, I started seeing non stop Cuomo ads all over new york and on the radio listening to the WFAN also. I never saw him go that hard, i mean in a way it was fun seeing him panic like that but hes too much of a machine

I fukking hate Cuomo, but I knew Nixon was going to lose. I live in Buffalo, and she barely campaigned here. Buffalo is the largest area in Upstate NY, so I thought she would have made a better effort up here. Also, my wife is from Brooklyn. My in laws there barely knew who she was. Her policy ideas were dramatically better than Cuomo’s, but it doesn’t matter if no one knows them. She had a real bland personality to be a actor. This is a huge missed opportunity. A better candidate could of took him out.

Sorry, I meant I'm sad about the entire ticket. Nixon, Teachout and Williams all lost. :shaq2:

It means Dems control of the New York congressional delegation isn't just symbolic any more. Progressive legislation actually has a chance to pass without Democrats caucusing with Republicans to block it.

Teachout would of had a better chance at beating Cuomo than Nixon. At least most of the IDC are gone. If the Dems can control the Assembly, and senate we might be able to get legal marijuana, bail reform, and single payer through. If Cuomo really want to run for president, he will have a hard time vetoing those bills.
