Nah that’s not the issue

Dame said that but was in lots of Kelly’s videos

And was sitting at the press conference of best of both worlds

But dame said he wanted nothing to do with Kelly

That’s a dame lie

He acts like it’s not footage

When confronted he says dumb shyt like

Oh yeah I was just supporting my artist

:francis:

The video was actually shot over 3-4 days.

You don’t see Dame anywhere near R. Kelly in that video. They shot the video in segments. Dame stuck to being in the scenes with Jay. Tone spoke on this a million times, and said he couldn't get Dame to even be in the room with R. Kelly back then. He refused to even let R. Kelly record in the Roc studio for the Best of Both Worlds album. So none of the tracks were done with Jay and Kelly ever being together. The whole issue at the Garden with Kelly getting run up on, was because one of Dame's people saw him backstage and everything popped off. Dude did not f*ck with Kelly and never wanted him around.

So nah, everything you just posted is literally not true, lol. Y'all just be on here talking to talk.

Dame act like he annoyed by getting asked about JAY but when he talks about Jay he knows his interviews gets views.

Has to hurt the ego knowing you only relevant nowadays due to being a former business partner with Jay.

Especially how dame was so big in the industry..his only relevancy nowadays is his former connection to Jay.

:dame: :dame:

No. He doesn't like how he's always asked about Jay, but when people interview Jay, they're too scared to ask him the same kinds of questions.

And y'all gotta stop being corny with this "relevancy" thing. This dude is responsible for bringing Jay to the masses and Kanye too. Nobody would even give Ye a chance. Dame did. Without Dame, we don’t get Just Blaze or even Curren$y either. Problem with the casuals, is that too many people spend more time hating on the legacies of these people, than respecting what they've actually brought to the culture. Dame is responsible for way too many legends existing for nobodies to be hating on him, like he owes them money or some sh*t, lol.

How do you "out grow" something and then...never accomplish another damn thing in life. There's not a single thing he can point to, post-Roc, and say I did this and it worked. He will never admit he had a golden goose, and once the golden goose left him it was over. And that golden goose is still a golden goose btw, worth obscene amounts of gold while Dame is out here bumming it up with half assed hustler schemes.
Actually DD172/BlackRoc was a powerhouse for Spitta Krit Mos DZA and several others. That whole product should have gone further but surely behind the scenes shyt was iffy.

DD172 was incredible.

Problem was, it was formed on too many verbal agreements and not actual paperwork. So people would kinda come and go and didn't feel locked in to sticking with the brand. The vibe was "let's all just chill and make music". They should've made the situation more about getting the business right too. That should've been way more special than it was. Crazy potential.

These labels never last long. So I think it's tough to say. Average Hip Hop "boutique" label with success usually doesn't stick around longer than 7-8 years. So they're not meant to last forever. They build up the value and then sell. I think Roc ended when it was supposed to. The only thing working out at the time they sold, was Kanye. I don’t think there was an issue with letting Dame do what he wanted. It was a matter of loyalty and being real about the plans. Jay worked out a deal to get Biggs and Dame out of there, where he could still oversee the label and other labels under Def Jam.

Problem is, he worked this deal out with the same people who had beef with Dame. I think the label would've ended eventually anyway, so going about it that way was mad shady.
Jay was tired of dame. Those guys couldn’t get jay to do anything without him having those thought’s already.

Jay offers to leave everything to dame and Biggs, he just wanted RD masters and would move on. Dame told him he can leave with nothing.

Doing this while jay is holding all the cards was crazy.

Jay got the president of def jam cause he had def jam stuck between a roc and hard place. He had never cashed any of his royalty checks and when he left roc he went to cash them in and def jam said they would go bankrupt if he did. So they agreed to give full rights to his masters and president of def jam.

Only thing he did dame and them dirty is buying them out of roc a fella for like 20 million a piece and then selling it for like 150 mill not to soon after.

Dame had no respect for jay leading up to jay doing all this.

Like when dame got distribution of armadal and got jay to put it in raps, promote it heavy and then say saw no cut of it. And then jay found out dame used roc funds to purchase it but only for himself.

None of that is true.

That's not how or why he got the job. Doug and LA wanted to keep everyone involved, but Dame and Biggs because they couldn't get Dame and Biggs to agree with their personal visions for where the company should go. They sent Kev and Lyor to speak with Jay privately out of the country about selling the label back to the parent company, and then told him that once they did, they would bring him right back in as an executive, which would allow him to oversee Roc without having to deal with Biggs and Dame anymore.

Weeks after they sold the label, he was introduced as president, and all of us who worked there were told that "nothing was changing", but that this was just a "slight reorg". Basically, it was a plan to get rid of the people who weren't playing nicely with the front office.

Jay probably has an interview clause where there are no dame dash questions...
Probably not, when he’s done hip-hop related interviews a few people asked him about Dame. But in his general interviews those guys don’t give a flying fukk about Dame. This man has actually done stuff during the past 20 years.

The people who only get asked question about the past are the ones who haven’t done shyt since then. But that’s not as bad as cats like Boosie or Gipp who only get questions about other guys, who they don’t know, cause they haven’t done shyt

the more dame talks the more it’s clear why jay doesn’t fukk with him at all. Says he doesn’t want to talk about jay but spends the whole interview sending subs and sneak dissing shyt be hilarious 😂. Him and master p are the masters of bsing and saying surface shyt that sounds cool
