Where was he gonna go and win a title....in 2 years? Everybody doesnt get a title. Thats what makes it special. You can still be great and even lengendary without one.
That's kinda my point.... he isn't playing this year anyway and still got paid by the Bucks. He could've laid low and rehabbed while seeing how things shake out in 2026. Things can change very quickly.

A 36 year old Dame coming off an Achilles isn't a guy you can rely on to be the main focus of a championship roster but he could undoubtedly be a big contributor to a title team, especially if he signed for such a small price.

Rehabbing on his own dime vs rehabbing with a team and getting even more money on top of that.

We gotta be realistic, no team with a legit shot a the chip is banking on the bolded to play a major role. They already got their guys that are younger and/or healthier. Most would take a flyer on Dame. But obviously he aint tryna go that route.

Walton got them their only chip in franchise history :hubie:

He did but Walton was only there 5 years and spent half the time injured

Clyde drexler is their best player not dame

Dame has broken most of Drexler’s records, and for the 35 and under Blazer fans they weren’t there for Drexler’s era :manny:

I ain't the biggest Dame fan, think he's pretty overrated and his addition to the NBA 75 was a disgrace - but he's still got ton of clutch performances in the playoffs and can absolutely be a contributor in a reduced role, even in his diminished state. You trying to tell me that having Dame as your 6th man for like Denver or the Knicks wouldn't be amazing?

:whew:terrible contract but good for him
How? He's getting paid to do nothing for a whole season. And he's already getting paid by Milwaukee there's no reason for him to fight Portland for a bigger contract, he's already getting paid premium

What if the Blazers is paying for the remaining of contract i.e. under the table. The amount of money being paid to Dame is drawing emotional energy for an irrelevant Portland team is unnecessary honestly other than positive revenge in 2 years when Dame is fully healthy.

When we say 'next season' are we talking 2026/2027 when he's playing? Or 2025/2026 when he's rehabbing.
26-27.

Don't bury that Portland team.
