Of course a Nissan Altima is the cause of all of this…:francis:

Dude’s car was already fuked up so he probably was an aint shyt driver himself…probably was texting or some shyt and lost control and crashed. No other cars around him at first and he’s too dumb to turn on his flashers to warn others…

What is the proper thing to do if your car breaks down in the middle of a freeway?

Hazards, contact emergency services, and make your way to the shoulder as quickly and safely as possible, but only if there is little to no traffic. If not possible (traffic is active) stay in your car and keep your seatbelt on until emergency services/HERO can stop traffic.

dude walking around at night on a dark hwy. cars zooming by on both sides. but he has no sense of urgency ro get to safety or at least turn on hazard lights?
:mindblown:

looks like his front right wheel was damaged. but coming to a stop in an active lane is a worst case scenario and should be avoided at all cost. better off risking further damage to the car trying to get over to the emergency lane instead of stopping on the hwy and risking your life.

on a dark hwy, especially in fog or rain with no hazards or other lights, it can be hard to judge if an object is moving and how fast. poor headlights or badly aimed headlights are also an issue. most people won't even start slowing down while trying to figure it out until it's too late. folks misjudge how much distance it takes to stop a vehicle traveling at 60 mph, much less 80+. even with good tires and brakes it can still take 300 feet or more with good reaction time. add distractions and nerves, that's how we end up with pile ups like that one.

if for some reason you can't get off the hwy, turn on your hazards and stay in the car!!! call the police to report disabled vehicle in a traffic lane. check if you can safely exit the car sprint to the shoulder, if there is one. otherwise stay in the car! better off in the cage of the vehicle and airbags.

i've caught several flats over the years while on the hwy. always turned on hazards, pulled over to emergency lane and limped the car to nearest exit, gas station or parking area. never change tires on the shoulder because it ain't safe. and sometimes it's not level ground to safely change the tire.

also, it's not just distracted drivers, but people can be looking right at you and end up passing too close or sideswiping the vehicle. see this happen a lot to police cars or emergency vehicles. even if i get pulled over for speeding i pull damn near into the grass on the shoulder just to get as far off the hwy as possible.

I’m marveling at how multiple Random beefs, on a car accident thread, that no one here was involved in, on a Tuesday, have extended this thread into a potential plat for all the wrong reasons.

This could have been avoided if the police weren’t acting p*ssy, and actually blocked off the lane with the disabled vehicle, with their police car. At least the police car has flashers than can be seen from further and people are quicker slow down when they see them.

This is LA, Highway 110. LA driving is not a joke, when you have no traffic like this people will be flying at over 80 MPH. Its fogging and the freeway lacks any real lighting add in fast driving its a recipe for disaster.

Either way ain't you still pretty much at risk? If you get out the car you have a chance of getting hit and if you stay in the car you still have a chance of getting hit.

If you got out the car and made it safe to the other side, other people still are at risk of hitting your car and they themselves getting injured :damn:
