I doubt he gave a reason. He had an abusive, militaristic stepfather that beat him. In the morning the stepfather would smack Christopher out of bed and make him do push ups.


Big Pun would later get his kids up in the middle of the night and make them box each other.

Big Pun beat his wife so bad that his 5 year old son said that when he grew up he was going to kill Daddy. Now I'm hearing that those kids are always tweeting about food...

I got that info from one of the documentaries on him after he died. If you google "big pun stepfather push ups" you will see excerpts from Vibe magazine where he said it.

This is documentary. I can't find the whole thing. The trailer is horrible, the documentary is really good if you can find it.

NORE said he felt awful after realising the reality of what he accidentally did after Pun died.
