Trouble been brewing though...ya'll remember Soul threatening to leave the group after a magazine cover pretty much called TDE "Kendrick Lamar & Friends"

even though that's exactly what it is whether they can accept it or not :russ:
I agree with everything everyone said it all has everything to do with this... but this post right here became the reality. And that happened like 3 years ago.

shyts don't even come with instrumentals anymore :snoop:
Repped,

Only reason I bought singles. They would always have atleast two remixes (or a "dub"), the radio/clean version, and ofcourse the instrumental.

That was back in the 90s/early to mid 00s though...

1. This is the first time I've ever heard of Groovy Tony.

2. The only reason you can put out all these bootleg artists is because Dre wanted Kendrick.

These nikkas want the way the music industry works now to go back in time for them and work like how it did in theel 90s

That aint how it works, doesnt matter how "special" you think you are, you gotta adapt to the market around you

Age of the Record Label is dead.

We all know at this point that artists get money off shows and endorsements unless they're independent and get all proceeds from sales minus album pressing and paying for artwork.

Ain't nobody trying to sell albums now. It's all views and streams.

Rappers get popular on the internet, folks come to their shows, merch gets sold, artists get paid.

It's why 360 deals exist.

Hell, imagine if Q got booked for 15 shows over 3 months to perform his "hot" single, at even 5,000 per show.

That's a quarter mil.

Label may see none of that.

Why would an artist complain about record sales?

Only a label would complain about "record sales".

Record labels still matter in music outside of hip-hop. Especially in electronic music and indie rock (oh _____________ blank label always releasing good stuff).

But I feel ya, real artists that are confident in their craft regardless of genre shouldn't have to rely on labels.

naw early TDE had great potential.

They broke 2 Gold/Plat artists after Jay Rock. Thats a lot.

SZA wrote Beyonce's hit "Feeling Myself"

Isaiah Rashad got stans in every TDE thread.

dont sleep. Thats a lot coming under one roof.
