Might be sitting on a classic here. I rarely be popping back into threads like that but this is golden.

Im really going to miss Dave as an emcee, as good as Pos is Dave was right there with him/able to turn that pen, excellent writer. Comparable to Thought and Malik B.

Still trippin on how he flipped that sample on

Had the pleasure of an early listen

Damn near choked up a few times

Music like this, just doesn't get made like that anymore. So much negativity, toxicity and poison in our music now... This feels like a home cooked meal from granny. You just feel great after it

This is soulful music, this is hip-hop

Yo, who gave color to hip-hop?
Neon crops risen to top of livers
The rivers of Jones delivers
See, I'm the reason why the love of the game gave birth every nine moons to a new nikka
Armed with the bars and steps, devise the steps, career building
We in the gym, bytch, working out this chubby check
The twist is respected
The biz keeps old nikkas fit likе Jack LaLanne
Buffoons in my era cannot jack thе lane
And I'ma bet the movie and the popcorn
They say, "Sky's the limit"
Goddamnit, I'm a rocket
Divide space, clear the area
Pa, give the God three feet, I'm bout to starve these streets
Feed 'em nothin' but that good health
Trap a forkful, I been too thoughtful
I feed you nothing but that good health

:whew:
and this beat is fukking KNOCKING :wow:

the fact that i went in with zero expectations and got shocked when i heard Premo and Pete rock we're part of this while enjoying the album without skipping it just has me wanting to apologize for almost passing and overlooking the album. This sh Is classic material, you hardly get any of this anymore. The legends bringing it this year and mainstream dying is some poetic justice sh, maybe going back to the roots is what's gonna spark the next revolution of the genre :blessed:

It was beautiful hearing Slick Rick on there. All these albums were started before or elsewhere but Nas has pulled this all together and really made an iconic catalogue for Mass Appeal. Even if they only do it once - to have most probably the last albums from Mobb Deep, De La, Slick Rick and Big L AND a long awaited Nas/Premo album. Not to mention Ghost and Rae both had dope albums too. If it had been a RAGU album that would have been the icing on the cake.

This isn’t the last De La album

This isn’t the last De La album

Yeah I saw a clip from some new interview where they said it wasn’t going be their last album but who knows. I would love to think we get another De La album in 2,5 or even 10 years but I wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t happen either. They could start and even get half way through but find that they don’t want to do it without Dave or it feels different or whatever.

Yea i was a little perplexed that people think this is the last De La album when on the album itself they said that if they stop that means Dave stops.

I think they’ll definitely keep going but from now on it’ll be passion or specialty projects. I think they still have unfinished business with Prince Paul, i could see them doing a project with Pete Rock. Bucket list stuff.

Making this a yearly/or every 2 year thing could really bring things back full circle, back when everything dropping was quality music

As a fan I'd like to see them link up with Tip/Ali for a group. Native's never got busy with full on/group albums. This is a way in some capacity to make that right.
