The first girlfriend of Apple billionaire Steve Jobs wanted $25 million as compensation for his "dishonorable behavior" while she raised their daughter alone, according to a report.

Chrisann Brennan, who is the mother of Jobs' eldest child, wrote a two-page letter in 2005 asking the technology baron to fork over millions, Fortune magazinereported.

"What I want is money that will more than last me for the rest of my life. I believe that decency and closure can be achieved through money. It is very simple," she wrote.

The single-spaced, typewritten missive also asked for an additional $5 million for their grown daughter, Lisa.

Brennan wrote a 2013 memoir titled "The Bite in the Apple," in which she accused Jobs of being cruel and abandoning her and their daughter.

Jobs did not respond to the 2005 letter, Brennan said. Four years later, after Brennan sent another request via email, Jobs replied "I don't react well to blackmail. I will have no part of this."
Brennan and Jobs met in Cupertino, Calif., and were high school sweethearts. Their volatile relationship ended in 1978. Brennan was pregnant with Lisa. Jobs denied paternity.

Ultimately, a court order forced Jobs to undergo a paternity test. He was determined to be Lisa's father. At the same time Apple went public, Jobs began paying $500 a month in child support, Fortune reported. He had a personal net worth at the time of more than $225 million.

Brennan, an artist, said she raised Lisa on her own, often with little money. At times, she was on welfare, she said.

Besides child support, Jobs also bought Brennan a house, which she acknowledged in her 2005 letter.

"I am requesting we close this chapter forever," Brennan wrote. "Money is the only meaningful thing that can do it at this point. All the years that I have lost as a result of a sort of theft from dishonorable behavior can heal and be forgiven."

Lisa, who is now, 37, ultimately established a close relationship with her father and was at his bedside when he died of cancer in 2011 at age 56.

A woman wanting a man to do more than the bare minimum to take care of his child is not a leech. I'm not saying she should be able to live a life of not working, traveling, and shopping everyday but he should have been contributing more than $500 a month, that's just the taxes and insurance on the house that purchased. I'm sorry if this comes of as being insensitive, but if you have a house that is paid for, meaning you don't pay a monthly mortgage or rent, and 500 dollars guaranteed to you every month, and you can't get up off your lazy azz and make another 500 or so a month to supplement, kill yo self. Since when does having a baby entitle you to a life of luxury and leisure? We not even talking about 500 today, we talking about 500 over 30 years ago. That's a bit over 1200 dollars monthly today. Having a man's baby does not entitle a female to a piece of the success that man creates for himself. They went to court, the courts decided he should pay 500 a month, he paid that. Not to mention she attempted to black mail him when he was alive?
Now she wants 25 milli because she had to raise his daughter on her own?
If I had money like Jobs had, I would have done more for my daughter in her earlier years, but the mother...

Family Court was designed to protect the rights of legally married women and the children produced within marriage. It is only recent, since about the 90s, that unmarried women have been served by the court system.

Karl Malone committed statutory rape while in college and got a 13 year-old pregnant. While in the NBA, he refused to pay $125 a week child support. Years later he settled for a lump sum and refuses to have a relationship with his son.

Jalen Rose's NBA father, Jimmy Walker, either paid no or very little child support.

Kareem Abdul Jabbar lied for decades through the press about being bankrupt in order to reduce child support to one of his baby mamas. After that child turned 21 Kareem admitted that he was never bankrupt after all.

Currently, Texas caps child support at about $2600 a month. Chris Bosh claims Texas residency and pays $2600 a month in child support. He also bought his baby mama a house and pays for all of his daughters expenses like school and medical.

Nevada caps child support at about $1100 a month. Supposedly the casino owners wanted the cap. I haven't heard of any athletes or celebrities moving to Nevada to take advantage of the child support law.
