No, but it does point out a flaw in your original argument. According to you, every hour they wasted praying to Allah meant their advances were moot all because they could've done more if they weren't wasting their time on their God.
And the religious-morality movements of the 80s, which century would you mean? Because I'm sure you could find a "rise" in them all throughout history. This country is young and we've had plenty.
