we have to deal with the reality of our situation and take advantage of how it currently is. fact of the matter is, Black people are very heavily vested in religion here in America, whether that's a good or bad thing is irrelevant, it's the reality, and attempts to explain to them why they don't need God to do a fundraiser or feed the poor won't be met with "hmm Napoleon, maybe you're right, maybe we CAN do things without God", but rather attacks, Black people will shutdown on you if you attack their religion because to them, you've become the devil who's trying to separate them from their God, which naturally makes you the enemy, even as a Black man talking to another Black man, religion trumps race.

I sincerely believe that at this point.

If people really want to push aims, any sort of mental or intellectual or ideological hinderance to facing the truth of how the universe works or what the latest knowledge in any scientific or rhetorical field is ultimately detrimental.

Religiousity is a tool which is used to control a group of people who would much rather be served by applying their energy in more practical ways and investing that energy into more useful intellectual pursuits.

Every 10% given to a church is money that can be used for a personal investment of self or community venture.

Every hour spent on reading religious texts could be spent on school-work or round-tables to create businesses and political agendas.

Every thought devoted towards the acknowledgement of a deity is a waste of energy better devoted towards embracing reality and taking useful advancements in the welfare of themselves and those around them.

If you're pro-black and really want to see society win, religion MUST go.

As long as people are slaves to that mentality and even invested in the INVESTIGATION of religious claims (and this includes all forms of pseudoscience, quackery, and general ignorance towards logical fallacies or cognitive biases) then they can never truly be immune from the mental and PHYSICAL captivity they find themselves in.

Instead of cutting out God, why not cut out other unproductive activities that facilitate anti progress for black people. Instead of clubbing, trying to find a woman to mate with for the evening, stay home and do your studies. Instead of watching pointless ball games, stay home and do your studies. Instead of watching television, engage in your studies. There are many avenues that people waste their time traveling that need to be eliminated before you demons can even THINK of bringing beef to Gods door, friends. Nice try though. Now go somewhere and pray.

I say its a TERRIBLY bad thing and I don't think ignoring that helps anyone.

and religion does not nor should it never trump ANY sort of black movement. The fact that it does utterly disgusts me at times.

Community leaders should not bear the title "reverend" or use some drawn out trumped up "theological" assertion to defend their legitimacy to speak on our behalf.
