This is false. There weren't any liberals in power in the 60's outside of Kennedy who was killed barely two years into office. 60's was a very conservative era. Only thing liberal about it was the hippy movement and the civil rights movement. Nixon instituted those changes and he was a conservative.

Liberal ideology had been circulating throughout politics since LBJ and crossed party lines so 'Liberals in power' means nothing.
