Three of the most prominent Democratic NY leaders still haven’t endorsed:

• Kirsten Gillibrand, responsible for Senate candidate support (from NY)
• Chuck Schumer, the perennial minority leader and serial election underperformer (from NY)
• Hakeem Jeffries, House Minority Leader (also from NY)

This is unacceptable. Hakeem has tweeted “Vote blue no matter who”—yet as party leader, he failed to endorse a progressive candidate from his own state. These endorsements should have been locked in by June end of July the latest.

My issue isn't that I think he is a white supremacist my issue is that I think he's an incredible phony whose political beliefs change depending on who is in power. I also don't think he's an avatar of masculinity that will solve all of the Dems problems. As far as Kirk is concerned, he's not an idiot that's going to have an unforced error. He can just not say anything.

He’s a calculated coward. His daughter’s rhetoric has nothing to do with him, and anyone who thinks otherwise is operating on the shallow end of the IQ spectrum. There are plenty of celebrity political cowards—DJ Khaled, Patrick Mahomes, LeBron James (we haven’t forgotten Tamir Rice). The Rock makes calculated decisions, too

His daughter is an adult? What's he supposed to say. He's not a politician why would he comment on it when he likely has no opinon either way and is busy promoting the Mark Kerr movie. He's not going to risk upsetting either side when he can just be quiet.

"There should not be political violence" or whatever and "he was a great man we must continue his work" aren't phony statements by default. The first is understandable, the second is not necessarily phony its just despicable .

People only care about what his daughter says is because she’s his daughter, there’s pressure on him to make a comment by default and he hasn’t.

The rock could easily put out a milquetoast statement to satisfy the news outlets bet hasn’t. He could easily put out a statement to score cheap points with his conservative fans but he hasn’t.

Newsom’s statement is probably phony because it wouldn’t surprise me if Newsom was a psychopath that doesn’t feel real empathy. If he didn’t experience real empathy it would make sense why his overreaction comes off as a massive miscalculation for his political future
