So Biden wasn't demonized as a socialist despite running as fast as he can from that idea as possible? They are gonna do it anyway, instead of running point out their hypocrisy. There is plenty of socialism occurring in favor of mostly rich people and corporations that Republicans are in favor of.
How do they have anymore of an 'we are always right' attitude anymore than Centrists? You have a Centrist lose to a political novice game show host and still wouldn't even think of running on any progressive ideas. Won't offer free healthcare during a pandemic when upward of 20% of the workforce lost their jobs. But Progressives are labeled with an 'always right' attitude?! Lack of self-awareness is astounding.

Honestly, with the exception of defund the police, I think most progressives are against those concepts as well...at least the Bernie progressive coalition.

There has been a political shift on multiple levels for several years.
1. The Far Right has figured out how to get and maintain majority rule with the least amount of votes, and the least popular policies.
2. The centrist Democrat establishment have obsessed over stopping the far right to the point they have become republican party lite. Their message change from one cycle to thr next depending on how the far right does in elections.
3. The progressive democrats have the most popular ideas but not only do they get attacked by the far right, the centrist democrats attack them to appease far right voter block. This includes the liberal media.

people associate the social democracy aspects of Progressivism do to a long running ideological assaults by the American right wing in their post Civil Rights dominance with being hostile to American culture as a collective, it's like how people love porn but despise pornstars as being of lower status, much of our country wraps itself in White racial dominance, bible thumping and "small town/suburban values" as core ideologies and views anything that has the audacity to challenge much of those structures as being Un American, this is the Social Democrat wing of Left leaning politics biggest challenge in breaking through consistently in a nation where many have a deeply biased outlook towards Conservatives tendencies that are frequently completely reactionary.
