Democrats keep demonizing progressives, yet the masses keep voting for progressive ideas.

i keep hearing this, but it directly conflicts with progressives shouting from the rooftops that their policies are loved by all

they know how to properly campaign/get their message across and everybody loves their policies so why cant they form their own party if the dems are republican lite? perhaps the former isnt as true as they like to say?

Progressive policies are typically loved but they're honestly shyt at packaging them up in a digestible form. Republicans are far better at controlling the message on those policies. Obamacare was a demonized word but you see how now much of the country in in favor of it now. When Obamacare was passed it caused a bloodbath for the democratic party in those midterms. Republicans excel at using misinformation to cloud up the goals of progressive policies.

Some of these policies that get called socialism in this country once enacted people love but before it's enacted fearmongering and misinformation usually gets people against it. Look at social security. People don't seem to have a problem with it. Medicare as well. I'm sure if Medicare for All got passed people would rail against it for a few years then they'd get used to it and couldn't imagine life without it.

Force people to have medical insurance? Like insuring your health is some sort of burden? That's why we need public health care for all because there are people that gamble on not carrying health insurance but when they need medical care they're gonna show up uninsured to a hospital.

I'm pretty sure the mandate was struck down.

but what about that mandate? That’s not an “option”. U can’t penalize someone for not wanting to buy insurance in the first place. Obama even said the ACA doesn’t work without that mandate.

The problem with the first bill is insurance went up for some people. Biden can’t afford to have the same problems he had before. He’s gonna have to convince a potential republican led senate to approve something they’ve been trying to kill for the past 5 years.

Having insurance isn't getting nothing. You have insurance and when you need it then it's there. Maybe you don't but maybe you do. A lot of these people who don't want to carry insurance aren't wealthy enough to pay for their own medical care out of their own pocket in the event they need serious care.

so what’s the difference between the mandate and Medicare for all. The ACA has too many moving parts. The media criticizes Medicare for all by bringing up the cost but more importantly they always ask the question “is it going to raise taxes”. That’s exactly what the mandate did. If you want to cover everyone, everyone is going to have to kick in. No way around it. When Obama pushed the ACA he tried to make it seem like everyone didn’t have to kick in, and when questioned on it, he tried to talk his way around it.

everyone kicks in for social security and nobody complains. So Medicare for all would eventually be looked at like social security.

but the problem with this country is everyone wants the freedom to fukk up their lives. Obama tried to push for a healthier lifestyle which would decrease hospital visits. Americans rejected it. The problem isn’t just affordable healthcare or the costs. One of the reasons why costs are so high is the supply vs demand. This is one of if not the most obese country in the world. Heart disease is the number one killer. But we want to eat what we want, cheap food that’s slowly killing us.

Uhh you actually can. It's illegal to drive without car insurance and you will be criminally penalized if you don't. Don't hear anyone (outside of Libertarian Presidential debates ) complaining about the government taking away their freedom to drive a car without insurance though. Go figure.

Right, so they vote for a party that literally has no platform other than fascism. Seems like their hatred for anything supporting the non-white, non-straight, non-Christian demographics of this country trumps any of those policies they're supposedly in favor for.
