I doubt it, plus if they quit their income options are extremely limited. Better a regular paycheck with delayed hazard pay, than delayed unemployment with no other income.
Yep. If this shyts extend over a long period and essential workers aren't getting an additional g or something like that monthly I guarantee most people would quit there job. I work for Amazon and I'm would forsure leave it they don't get us some kind of hazard pay. So would many of my co workers. If Amazon goes down our country going to shyts they provide too much right now. Plus I go on unemployment through my other job but I choose not too right now since I rather work. Don't want to go on unemployment unless I need too others need it more than me. Anyways I don't see this going through. Unemployment would hit crazy heights.

At the very least people deemed essential workers who are still at risk and going out and working should be getting some sort of hazard pay. They should be getting the 600 extra that folks on unemployment are getting.

We’re doing it in Canada. 2000$ a month for every citizen who reported earnings of at least 5000.00$ on their tax return. Took about 90 seconds to call in and register. Got the first deposit 72 hours later.
Government is co-signing loans for small businesses of 40000$ at 3% interest of which 10000$ doesn’t have to be paid back. My municipality is offering another 50000$ loan for businesses with a 6 month delay before any payments to return it begin. Employee wages are refundable by the government at 75% so places that are allowed to open actually can when time comes. Commercial landlords and tenants have a two month hold on mortgages and rents (for now, may be more).
Credit card payments can be deferred or paid at half interest. Home mortgages can be deferred. Student loan payments were suspended. Income tax filing was pushed back til June. Emergency loans were available for any citizen who was abroad to get home.
And we have universal healthcare for every citizen.
I live a 40 minute drive from the U.S border.

They need to make both of these happen. The US can survive completely on it's own. Channel everything into making the US sustainable. Nothing wrong with helping other countries afterwards, but take care of American people asap.

I wonder why UPS/FEDEX/Amazon workers aren't getting hit with the Covid all that much?My neighbor works for UPS.
He told me they're just handing out fliers saying "Stay Safe"..No preventive measures to keep their employees safe.
And they have huge azz hubs that employ 2-4 thousand people per hub....All across the US/globally.People touching
