They need to make both of these happen. The US can survive completely on it's own. Channel everything into making the US sustainable. Nothing wrong with helping other countries afterwards, but take care of American people asap.

At the very least people deemed essential workers who are still at risk and going out and working should be getting some sort of hazard pay. They should be getting the 600 extra that folks on unemployment are getting.

I wonder why UPS/FEDEX/Amazon workers aren't getting hit with the Covid all that much?My neighbor works for UPS.

He told me they're just handing out fliers saying "Stay Safe"..No preventive measures to keep their employees safe.

And they have huge azz hubs that employ 2-4 thousand people per hub....All across the US/globally.People touching

packages all day nh.They get a bunch of priority mail, to.Shyt that has to be delivered by the next day.The Rona has to

be surviving on some of the packages being passed around by thousands of people

I can attest the info on amazon is not true. Which is why even those protesters have died down. I've recently entered a partnership with amazon through a friend of mine that works in one of their fc's. I have a few trucks and will be hauling prime freight. The condition of my partnership was to see how amazon is treating their workers. They allowed me to see as a visitor. Immediately upon entering I was given a mask, a machine registered my temp from over 6 feet away while I walked by, and their is literally uniformed tape all over the floor indicating six feet.

I've seen the inside of one those facilities. They treat social distancing on higher priority than even getting the products out the door.

I can attest everyone is mandated to wear a mask, you will get fired in you have three violations of noted social distance violations and every workstation has a chemical cleaner zip tied to the station and a paper towel roll. The slides themselves also has plastic curtain separating employees. Even the breakroom has removed most tables and the few they have were spread to various areas of the fc to provide break room space and promote the 6 feet rule. The spaces they don't use is basically used now as make shift break rooms. They even deactivated their security scanners to prevent pileups going in and out. The employees can bring their keys, phone and food on the floor.

They certainly had a lot of cases early. Every business has. But I can say they are doing what is possible to slow it down.

Even further, they may be the only company that if an employee doesn't feel safe to work....they don't have to and still get to keep their job. unlimited unpaid time off. Just login to the app every scheduled day and your set.

I fully support essential workers getting every penny that is offered. back date that shyt way back to last year as well.

They deserve it.

Now don't me wrong, Amazon is making every attempt to take over UPS and Fedex. They have motive.I do however think amazon can afford to pay their own employees hazard pay.

Adding 2/hr and double time overtime is what they have now. Most companies aint doing that on a warehouse setting. They deserve more imo.

Instead of trying to pander to and give "free" shyt to people in a cynical effort to buy votes - how about they work with the other party to put a plan together to get people back to work? Or is it that they would rather put politics ahead of the country's needs because they don't want to give Trump what may seem like a political win?

How is that pandering? It's in line with what multiple major industrial countries are doing, from Canada to European nations. I wouldn't cosign this to last a year but 3-5 months? Do it. While still working to re-open businesses.

We can't re-open the economy without significant testing. We need to know who is sick, who is asymptomatic, who is healthy, etc. Becauze people will NOT spend major money in businesses if they think they're gonna get sick. The problem is that this administration has failed with testing. So opening up is gonna be hard.

What's the point of opening your business for a week, barely getting any customers, and then being forced to shut down again because of a second wave of new virus cases slamming the hospitals?
