I question term African Americans. If you knew the name America came from, you wouldn't use it.

If we knew where we came from we wouldn't have to:mjcry:

But you sound just as lost calling yourself "African".

I'm fine just being black, which usually accounts for black americans.

I'm not african or american. We just have ties to these places.

We are basically an independent nation like Wakanda, but without the tech, with oppresion and gentrification, and without the independence:francis:

Sorry I didn't mean you, just anybody black american who simply would walk around calling themselves african.

You still would sound just as lost and like you don't know where you come from. No african simply calls themselves african.

So i disagree with that african american title all together.

That's because Killmonger was trained by the US military and CIA to become efficient at killing. As T'Challa said, in his quest for power, he had become the very thing he hated.
Did they show the evil the CIA have done? The only true CIA representative in the movie was a ‘good’ guy who was clutch in saving the narrative.

These are all storytellling devices to manipuate the audience.

It’s politics. Again, Magneto and Killmonger are the same in worldview. But Magneto a white character we understand his pain and he’s shown not to be complete evil.

Imagine Killmonger isn’t so quick to kill Wakandan people or his girl. Imagine he spares them and shows them empathy and love. But still wants to start a revolution. We have a whole different angle then - then it’s a simple fact of ‘is Killmonger wrong?’ He had a claim to the throne. Won it fair and square and was doing things his way.

What BP done was a CIA backed coupe d’etat with Juju thrown in. If Killmonger wasn’t on killing his own would he be such a bad guy?

They make Killmonger an OD bad guy so you don’t have to wrestle with his politics as much. He’s so evil that it doesn’t matter. They don’t want you to overly sympathise with his worldview but Coogler got in a couple great monologues.

Again th fact is - all you see is the CIA dude as a good guy and Killmonger as a monster.

:mindblown: Why does everyone keep saying that same shyt like Killmonger's plans was destroyed by the wakandans in black on black crime with the white man stopping the liberation of the black people?!? :dahell:

Dude was willing to start WW3 with those weapons with sleeper cells of black wakandan operatives... :dahell: It wouldn't have been a good look to do that shyt...

You only make yourself look like your oppressors doing that shyt. T'challa was telling him your too angry, your anger is driving you to madness... And even though I releate there's a line that we can't cross...

Don't get me wrong I love Killmonger for his burn it all type shyt, I think we all have those MAGNETO-like thoughts in our heads if we was in that position... But then most of us would be good and realize maybe we can change the world in other ways... WW3 would gain us nothing...

The story whether or not to be a hero or a anti-hero villain was incredible the dichotomy was excellent. People not seeing the bigger picture.

not going to go into in right now, but it depends on what your stance is. lets just say it would take something really extreme to eradicate "White Supremacy" and that is what I got the idea that Kilmonger was out to do. I broke this down to my children, we watched the movie twice. When you said there is a line we cant cross, you pretty much play into the hands of the same oppressors KM was referring to. there has to be a no compromise attitude. yes, lives will be lost on both sides, but if its a revolution, it has to be extreme. If Turner and Vesey didnt cross lines or saw boundaries with their revolution then :yeshrug:

as another speaker once said, we've tried everything we could try. Kilmonger was the real hero of that movie and crowded theater full of blacks that I was in still couldnt see that.

I didn't like killmongers idea because it was too radical. I hate It because it was too sloppy... :yeshrug: see if he had formulated a grand plan like Hydra shyt then I would have been more on board with it. see even in the winter soldier they surgically manipulate history by taking out or subverting key figureheads of world leadership. You gain nothing by blowing up 3 cities...

Killmongers plan was well intentioned but foolish all things considered thanos is coming you really think a war on two fronts would tactically be good right now?!? :heh:

I'm spitting facts... You don't win wars by blowing up cities you do so by killing the chessmasters and pawns on the board.
