Thats a fact. A lot of conscious people at the time did.

Kinda like many in hiphop studied five percent lessons.

I still have a copy of this on the shelf some where. $100, damn, I should start selling this shyt, I've been lugging it around for years.

If you have any 90s magazine in good condition. They are all going for around that mark any 'The Source' is even more lucrative.

I got rid of all my magazines when moving from address to address through out the years. That's a shame lol.

Same, had milk crates of Sources in perfect condition dating back to 93. Left them all at old apartments. :francis:

Oh man that's legit coin there.

It's everything about the era they use to create nostalgia. From the reviews, the adverts, the whose hot and whose not. As well as the style and times.

A lot of Studio and Production companies buy retro stuff to recreate periodic dramas from older years gone. I'm guessing as well as hiphop fans who want to celebrate a lot may buy them at those prices to investigate and research. The new Zoe Kravitz flick is set in the 90s I think it has a hiphop thing to it.

There's no publication out now that looks like its worth storing maybe 'RollingStones' still has a prestige but I never messed with them at all.

Great, I have most of the magazines from about 97 - 03 (Source, XXL, Elemental, Rap Pages, Blaze, Scratch, etc). Thanks for the heads up.

*I have some from earlier, but I doubt they're in the same condition.

OP

First, fukk vlad. Outsiders openly disrespect Black people because they figure that we will forget 5 minutes later and go right back to supporting their content. They laugh at us.

Between the time between Jaz O's record deal and him resurfacing as a solo artist himself, was likely when Jay was running the streets.

In the Streets is Watching film, they show old music videos he was doing, promoting hustling lifestyle. Famously drinking and pouring Crystal before it became a fad in clubs

and he cleverly made a joke about that in an early record from the Stretch and Bobbito era

"...and now you see me jiggy, you're puzzled/
He aint selling no records, is he? That dude gotta hustle/"
Op is mildly autistic

I had dozens (possibly hundreds) of copies of The Source, XXL, Vibe, etc, back in the 90s and early 2000s. Apparently I should have kept that shyt lol.
