Did New York go crazy for the club banger Eminem produced for Lloyd Banks??

Fun trivia here (@old boy ) Banks and 50 actually made this song here because they felt like the 1st single they'd already made produced by Timbo (down below) was trying too hard / not hitting hard enough. And neither single is great, but I definitely My House is less bad.

"My House" was trash, and "Hands Up" had some energy but it was like one long ass hook and it didn't hit.

I fukked with "Cake" as a single though. Straight rapping and a chopped up sample.

I dunno why the official video isn't on YouTube though :yeshrug:

There never has been and never will be a such thing as a "hot" Eminem beat. And everything Evidence dissed him about about his "production" on Searching 4 Bobby Fisher was true.

The only slack I'm willing to give Em is that he's not a producer. He's a rapper that thought his talent and fame as an MC would just somehow magically transfer over to the production side of it. So he gets a slight semi-pass because I never took his beats seriously to begin with.

Em's beats were hot garbage but I always loved Nas' "The Cross".....the orchestra and horns were dope. The simple piano melody actually worked perfectly in this instance. It actually sounds like a beat that woulda been on the slim shady lp. And Nas killed it.

You nikkas must be young because on fire and Don’t push was getting heavy burn

I never even knew Eminem produced On Fire that was my shyt :blessed:

Em didn't make "On Fire" Kwame made that beat.

Eminem TRIED to take credit for that beat. (As usually what white people do to black people's hard work)

I'm not from NY but this the first time I ever even heard a nikka say something negative about this song, like 20 years later?

On Fire > and yes, he was unnaturally animated in this video lol

Most of his good to decent beats he's ever rapped over are from his own songs and even then they weren't really memorable, they just gave him a lot of space to do some really dope shyt lyrically.

For instance:

I love that as a whole, the standalone beat is just cool, something I might not skip over to freestyle too for a while.

That's the hardest song Em ever produced.
