No one really cared about his music until he beefed with Drake lol

He should thank YMCMB for his solo career.

Daytona his first solo album that nikkas actually care about and even that flopped.
This is just untrue breh.

Maybe he was never revered as a solo artist, but lots of knowledgeable fans have respected his pen game and enjoyed his work on all of the Clipse albums, as well as his Re-Up Gang work, and his features with Kanye, Kendrick, etc. Push has always had lots of respect from his peers as well as fans, but just never had a solo album that really hit all the way through, despite people really liking some of his solo joints like Numbers on the Board and Alone in Vegas. I even remember people saying he got the better of Jadakiss on Lose Your Life, and that was at a time where Jada was still merking most people on features. Push has always been dope and I think most people have always wanted him to just make better solo albums, which he finally did on Daytona.

And how did Daytona flop? Sales? Streams? I mean do people really care about that these days instead of how the music was? It was a dope album that was mostly acclaimed by casual fans, diehard heads, and also critics.

The biggest criticism you can lay at Push is that he's a one-note rapper that can pretty much only do drug talk. But he does it so well that no one besides Drake stans seem to mind.

I'm saying though. What does that even mean in 2018/2019? Nobody is selling major records in the entire music industry except for names you can count on 2 hands. So what constitutes a flop for a hip-hop artist that raps about coke sales?

No, Pusha has just cooled down after the Drake beef. With that said the man has his hands in a lot of projects and ventures, so I'm sure he's not sweating the relative lack of attention.

Blacballed is a reach....

His solo shyt NEVER got radio spins outside of a few places

He still does LOTS of features
He got a Grammy nomination

There will be a few ppl who wont do a song with hom bc they dont wanna piss of Drake but that doesnt amount to him being blacballed across the whole industry

The album was nominated for a Grammy.

Think about that... Pusha-T's solo album was nominated for a Grammy. For his profile and career, how is that not a win/success?
:what:
Grammys are all politics

H.E.R. Won for something that’s not even an album

When you take into account Push had the advantage of the being the first album released where Kanye was going back to digging in the crates and making beats, the PR stunt of using Whitney Picture, the Drake beef and nothing came from the album other than props on the coli and people claiming he has the futile AOTY

He’s still in the same exact place career wise as he was before that album dropped...that’s a flop

Teyana is the only one from GOOD that elevated their career last June

Why are y’all propping up Grammy nom?

They don’t validate the culture at all

It’s not about radio even tho that’s what Push has been about. He wants to be relevant in the mainstream

He can’t even tour his project properly because there’s no actual core fan base there.

Y’all think Pusha is more successful than a Currensy for example?
