I'm telling you that Derek was his manager before he got signed to MMG, not Killer Mike. I'm giving you the fact that they ran in some of the same circles and there was an early affiliation with GrindTime so there was a legit association, but Killer Mike was NOT managing him.

A lot of times bigger name artists are affiliated with newer artists and have managers, directors, A&R people all in house to manage different projects, Pill was no exception. Derek was down with GrindTime which may have led you to believe that Mike was managing him, but that was not the case.

In any event if you were apart of that movement at that time, you would know just how much more coordinated Pill's movement was. He had PR, regular email blasts, solid management, had notable video producers & record producers all at his disposal. He had a really legit local movement, looking back I'm lost at why they moved the operation to Warner Bros, they didn't understand what he was building at all

i was so pissed when he signed to MMG...then he MURKS every song on the compilation...not to mention he was the only one with a solo on there

then he left and i at least thought he'd keep dropping like pre-mmg but he put out that one tape with the horrible cover and i never heard from him again. at least thought he and Freddie would keep droppin.. I found out about both of them thru their collabs.

I remember seeing a Reddit AMA about a rapper saying that stuff, but it was never confirmed who it was. People were guessing Pill, Laws, rappers like that but we never found out
