Dirk doesn't care. whatever. :yeshrug:

he's also bought into all of Cuban's decisions - none of the choices made since the championship have been without his blessing.

he pushed for the Rondo trade when Carlisle was begging them not to.

he's still unbelievably fukking rich and he's living by his own rules. what's better than that?

I'm sure something is going on, but Cuban is cheap as fukk and constantly complains about how he loses money on the Mavericks. Hope he is hooking Dirk up in the real estate market. He owns some valuable land in the downtown Dallas area. A few of those properties need to be Dirk's property.

:what:

Lakers went to 3 straight finals from 08-2010 and won two of them. They tried restructuring the team twice with moves that were initially praised by everyone before shyt went sideways (The Veto, Nash getting hurt, Dwight being a bytch).

Kobe signed his extension in 2013. So how does 2 years of a "thank you" contract that expired in 2016 amount to a decade wasted?

Yes, Dallas did the opposite, missed the playoffs twice, and have been knocked out of the first round 4 times since their championship run. They have been getting worse since Dirk took his first pay cut and they haven't been able to lure top free agents either.

So what exactly is the point of him taking a pay cut if the team is just treading water?

they should've just let kobe walk instead of giving him that contract.

not only did he tie up money, but whether people want to admit it or not, players didn't want t come there and play with kobe.

that already set them back 5 seasons, with more to go.

and you can call Dwight whatever you want, but lets not act like kobe's teammates after that didn't even bother hiding their frustrations.

Another dumbass post about Kobe

we wasted a decade but our last title was less than a decade ago :mjlol:

"No one wanted to play with Kobe" yet only Bron and Melo were FA's during Kobe's contract, and they weren't coming to the Lakers regardless. Unless you want to bring up LMA, which means your reading comprehension is shot because LMA already explained his Laker meeting very clearly.

Name one player the Lakers couldn't afford because of Kobe's deal again?

They wasted money on they weren't gonna use anyway, but hey keep bytching about a player getting his full worth. Dirk took all this paycuts and Cuban hasn't shyt since 2011. But hey, let's act like Dirk is handling things better than Kobe:francis:

I didn't say its been a decade already. I said he set them back for about a decade.

melo & bron were the only FA's during kobe contracts? interesting. tell me more.
and LA was an ideal destination for melo.

I didn't say anything about LMA so why are you rambling about him?

I'm not knocking kobe for signing that deal at all. get money. the lakers franchise are the ones looking stupid.

As many have noted, this is the third time Nowitzki has given the Mavs a considerable discount on a contract. But in reality, his discounts actually started before that. In 2006, Nowitzki still had two years remaining on his original rookie extension when he agreed to another extension worth $59 million over three years. If he had not taken that deal, he would have been eligible in 2008 for a six-year, $158 million max contract as a 10-year veteran, which would have come before the NBA started to curb salaries in 2011.

If we assume Nowitzki would not have opted out of the max deal early, his next contract would have come in 2014 and he would have been eligible for a five-year, $239 million max contract through the 2018-19 season. Instead, Nowitzki signed a three-year, $25 million contract in 2014, a one-year $25 million deal in 2016, and the latest contract that runs through 2018-19.

That article is very misleading. Yeah he has left some money on the table but a 5 year deal at age 36 that would pay him 48 million a year? :heh: That was never on the table and that makes up most of that 192 million. The number is actually in the 30-50 million range and that was enough for them to write about without trying to sensationalize it.

fukked up the Mavs can't get a big free agent cause they got some nice pieces to build with

Nerlens, Yogi, Seth Curry, Barnes, and Dirk are a decent core to build with. They really need another star

Dirk ain't tripping off no paycuts though. He good in every hood in Dallas

Like I said before...Dungawd turned the Spurs over to Kawhi and Dirk is turning the mavs over to Harrison Barnes...

Also Dirk don't really even care about money like that anymore...I'd be shocked if he even signed this contract...probably has Cuban sign it for him
