Well when it's all said and done and Dirk will be number 5/6 and KG will be at 12, if that helps. And KG is ahead of Reggie Miller, so what does your logic prove once again?

That KG has made about 2000 more 2 point field goals than Reggie Miller has...and those roughly 4000 points does a good job of closing the gap between their 3 point disparity...

Looking at this chart Dirks has also shot about a 1000 more freethrows than KG...so let me get this straight...we are calling this some grand accomplishment for Dirk and ammo for Dirk in the Dirk vs KG debate when he has shot 10 times as many 3's as KG and shot about a 1000 more freethrows than KG...and with that ridiculous disparity in numbers Dirk is just now passing him? :usure::usure:

This doesn't really do anything but make me think less of Dirk honestly:manny: ...just makes me think to myself " A guy who has never been more than a jumpshooting big man finally passed a guy in scoring who has been an elite two way player for the majority of his career"

People can be mad all they want, but Dirk's 2011 run does make a huge difference when comparing the two. You could argue nobody has had a better playoff run EVER than him that year. He took down Kobe, Durant/Westbrook and then LeBron/Wade/Bosh in the Finals and he was KILLING it in almost every single 4th quarter. I can't think of anyone who hit more big shots in a single run than Dirk in 2011. It seemed like he did it in every game. It was incredible.

Let me know when KG get's straight up sonned by the number 8 seed in the year he won the MVP...

Toe to Toe? Show me one clip...just one...of Dirk being anywhere near Bosh, Bron, or Wade, on defense in that entire series...

Cats out here making it seem like Dirk was out here putting in all this work when he spent that whole series hiding on Joel Anthony on defense and hitting wide open 18 footers save that one slow motion game winning layup

Cats act like Dirk hasn't played with more all-stars during his career than any other "star" player in basketball...

LOL Dirk has played with 2 hall of fame point guards...most teams have never had 1 hall of fame point guard at anytime in their history...

KG has repeatedly gone deep into the playoffs...he was within seconds of winning back to back titles...

Dirk won his 1 title and did what the next year...got swept off the face of the earth by OKC...and then he did what the next year...oh yeah got fat after his surgery and smoothed watched the playoffs on a television that probably isn't bigger than mine
:rudy:
Dirk Nowitzki was 2 games away from winning a ring in 2006 with Devin Harris, Adrian Griffin, Josh Howard, and Desgana Diop rounding out his starting 5.

He beat Duncan-Manu-Parker-Poppovich Spurs and Nash-Amar'e-Marion-Barbosa-D'Antoni Suns that playoff year.
Kevin Garnett didn't even make an NBA Finals until he got to play with Pierce, Allen, Perkins, Rondo and Doc.:stopitslime:

But seriously though, why didn't LeBron guard Dirk in 2011? Let's not act like you don't have a PF in Chris Bosh, and a SF who likes to wave his big dikk around about being able to guard 4 positions. Why didn't any of those clowns try and D up Dirk? Oh yeah, they were hiding behind geriatric Udonis Haslem.

How did Kevin Garnett's super valuable playoff defense fare against Tim Duncan, Shaquille O'Neal, and Dirk Nowitzki when they matched up in series, guys?

How did DIrk's superior offense fare against the Heat and warriors and the Thunder?
22.8 ppg and 10.8 rpg against the Heat in 06 Finals
26.0 ppg and 9.7 rpg against the Heat in 11 Finals
19.7 ppg and 11.3 rpg against the Warriors in 07 Quarters (Both numbers higher than KG's career playoff averages) :russ:
32.2 ppg and 5.8 rpg against the Thunder in 11 Conference Finals
26.8 ppg and 6.3 rpg against the Thunder in 12 Quarters

KG's career playoff averages are 19.2 ppg and 11.1 rpg
Needless to say, Dirk surpassed KG's career playoff average in points every one of those series. :youngsabo:
KG's career playoff averages are 19.2 ppg and 11.1 rpg

Dirk's worst playoff series in career history is statistically better than KG's playoff averages

:bryan::bryan::bryan::bryan::bryan::bryan::bryan::bryan::bryan:

Dirk is one of 4 players in NBA history to average 25 and 10 in the playoffs. KG ain't on that list.

you are missing the point aren't you? Nobody is claiming that Dirk isn't a better offensive player. But where was his offense against the heat and warriors? In 2011 he was at 32ppg against the thunder, the next year he dropped almost 6 points?

How did he miss those free throws against the Heat that could have helped seal the series in 2006?

KG going to the finals in 2010 was just as impossible a run as Dirk in 2006, honestly. THat Celtics team was Larry Holmes squared. Dirk's 2006 team was much better then the 2006 heat.

The East had 3 teams. Dwight and Orlando, and Lebron and Cleveland. That's it. Only 3 out of the 14 teams in the entire conference were in Finals discussion... fukk outta here with "impossible." Celtics were odds-on favorites to win the title IMMEDIATELY after acquiring Allen and Garnett

Make up bullshyt to support your invalid case, brehs.

Where was KG in Minny with All-Star Wally and All-Star Chauncey? Where was his defense against Duncan or Shaq or Dirk? Why was he losing EVERY series when he was matched up against an offensively formidable frontcourt player? KG's defense is so valuable, yet he gets sonned home anytime he has a chance to prove his metal in the playoffs? Not just his team losing games, but the opposing PF/C dropping numbers on him? Why was he missing the playoffs entirely in Minni?

At the end of the day, Dirk took Jason Terry and a bunch of scrubs past PRIME Spurs and Suns squads into the Finals. KG needed a US Olympic squad to even reach the Finals. :win:

you fukking idiots in here

why the hell are you basing arguments against KG using scoring to prove anything? He's not a scorer first type of player and never been, he's a defensive player who happened to be superb offensively, too.

Dirk is the better scorer, yes that is common knowledge. But Garnett is one of the best defenders of all-time all while being a player who anchored top 5 offenses in his prime and pouring in 22+ points, 12-14 rpg and 5+ assists per game.

I actually don't have a problem with people arguing for Dirk, it makes sense considering how the general public is biased towards scorers.
