I don't mind when people compare oppression from different eras. When people say "gay is the new black" it doesn't bother me because they don't mean it literally, all they mean is that yesterday, we were the ones fighting for civil rights, and today it's gay people.

But to come outright and make the literal statement that the gay struggle (in 2014 especially) is worse than the black struggle was, is nonsense and idiotic.
