They are not disenfranchised......And what laws are you referring to that are comparable to the Jim Crow laws and federal laws prior to the reconstruction era?

Part of me thinks you want these laws to still be around so you'd actually have a point...because you don't.

The point is that there shuold not be laws that enable or permit the continued discrimination of gays.

Even without such legal barriers, it doesn't mean that minorities can't continue to seek equality in the eyes of the public.

There are similarities, but you all just wanna play the "who had it worse" game without acknowledging that its possible for individuals to face discrimination and bigotry of all sorts.
No, i just want them to stop comparing it to the Black struggle. They don't give a fukk about the Black struggle and are ignorant about it.

If you paid attention, no one is equating the "struggle"

They're drawing similarities in terms of legal opposition to their inherent autonomy.

Blacks HAD laws EXPLICITLY written to deny them their autonomy.

Gays HAVE and HAD laws EXPLICITLY written to deny them their autonomy.

Of course the laws aren't fukking similar...otherwise there wouldnt be two sets of laws to even compare!

Do you know what an ANALOGY is? :beli:

Just say you don't have a retort man.....The struggles are not the same...They need to champion their own movement and not piggy back someone else's just to evoke an emotional response from the general public......

OK...And?

The point is that the majority should not be so keen to continually limit the rights of minority groups.

The law never even was approved. But they approve numerous anti-black laws. How about focusing on that instead of supporting the same group of people who continue to support people like Chuck Knipp who act like drag queens and dress in black face?

Again,

You're taking offense to shyt that isn't even being said.

To gays, they face discrimination. Period.

Gays ALSO faced the same legal barriers to their autonomy as BLACK PEOPLE DID (get mad if you want to)

Now, i'm not going to play that bullshyt game of "who had it worse," but I will say that if you can't acknowledge the LEGAL barriers to gays and their autonomy and the LEGAL barriers to racial minorities and THEIR autonomy, then we have nothing to talk about.

There are CERTAINLY parallels.

They're similarities between Whoopi Goldberg and Sanaa Latham, but are they the same? :youngsabo:
In what way?

No one said the struggles were the same, but the comparison is valid in terms of LEGAL barriers.

You're better than this. Invest some intellectual energy into this.

If you hate gays, just say so and be done with it. Don't dance around the issue cause you want to focus all the energy on your cause and legal stance at the detriment of everyone elses.
