Prodigy's fall off is one of the greatest fall offs in skill in hip hop history to me. I never witnessed a MC on the level that he was at deteriorate in skill like that. Ever. He should be saluted tho for still putting out quality music.
in his book (which I know gets clowned on for being a lil over the top with the bullshyt) he addresses that shyt
basically drugs and alcohol
his sickle cell
dude just lost his groove

Yea, I got the book. He even says that dudes used to tell him to his face that he fell off. He's gotten a bit better recently tho. He isn't as wack as he was during the mid 2000's.

hes a bit overrated as a lyricist.

a top 5 lyricist of the mid-90s? nah dog.

and i dont know why the late '90s is even in the equation.

Imo he fell off right after the Jigga beef cause he felt his manhood had been tested by Jay not coming at him for his lyrical ability but by exposing that he was a fake thug...and that picture of him that Jay showed at Summerjam was sorta the nail in the coffin.....after that i feel P brushed aside his lyrical prowness and opted for a more blatant in your face overly aggressive gangsta style to try to prove that he was real ! it hurt him in the long run cause he neva changed back although he may show a glimpse every now and then ... P is that dude tho F*ck the naysayers...

prodigy had already fell off before the jay battle. thats the reason why jay went at em like that.

mobb deep was kinda old school by that point breh.

Hes an old person now and hip hop as a culture will never be good again so it don't matter at this point.

But after Pac & Big got killed and the smoke cleared that Hell on Earth album had the streets in flames.

The was the Prime of Hip Hop was 96-97 and Mobb Deep was the best out at that time.

its crazy that he came thru with return of the mac :wow: dude from like 02 to 06 was absolute trash but that was one of the best projects of the decade in my opinion. beatwise maybe one of the most cohesive cds ever

He tried to play tough so i put one in his brain
Even though i took his life, all i wanted was the chain

Come through truck without heat? How you figure?
When you in the projects keep your fingers on the trigger.

Up North Trip and Trife Life are probably my two fave hav verses. criminally underrated MC. That bolded line is one of those most chilling ive ever heard :merchant:
im gonna say this, not knockin hav or that verse

but when he spit that i just didnt believe him :ehh: maybe it was because he was followin up that flawless verse from p, idk.

and i mean believe as in conveyed, not like 'oh yea i bet that shyt really happened ' :heh: jus somethin that stuck out to me as the difference between them
