Preme was talking about how he cooked up like 80 beats for Jeru's first couple of albums that Jeru didn't pick. And how some of those were "the illest" beats he never got to use.

He's sitting on a lot of heat. But I know he likes to make people new sh*t from scratch. And Nas said Premier would sit with him and play him records with samples. So I know there's a thing where people kinda don’t like to do new projects with old ass beats. But for this one, we're talking instant classic, if Nas hopped on those older joints Premier didn't place anywhere else.
See the thing is …

How many or those beats are from

“Beats that collected dust” some of those are hit and miss :patrice:

To be honest, I think those are just weaker joints that he couldn't finish or bothered to even shop.

He said they were ideas that he had, but never did anything with. So I'm thinking those are just throwaways. That sounded like sh*t he did after he fell off. None of those joints are good enough for Nas.

It's the same with Pete.

Dude was on IG going through old SP discs, that had labels on them like "3/14/95" and sh*t and he was playing the craziest beats that we never heard! Sh*t that was better than a lot of his later work after '98. And the people in the comments were telling him to do something with them.

He said some of the beats he had on the last Common album, he already had in the stash for years and just dusted them off for Common. These dudes are literally sitting on some of the best sh*t never heard and just doing nothing with them. Dre's the same, lol.

I can't remember how many volumes he did for that. But I downloaded all of them, and only liked a handful of beats.

Lol I thought that was dope. Maybe not a Nas vibe but would have been good for Jeru, can hear Papoose on it as well.

With the Nas project, I think he'll have input too. He helped with the production on Memory Lane and Represent. Anyway this Roc Marc joint is pretty good.
