I’ve been told by @Deuterion and a few others to get Network first and tbh that makes more sense to me now.

Bro if you get the network first it will make understanding the security concepts a little easier.. But it doesn't matter which one you get first. You just need to make sure you get all three.

And if you really want to get ahead of the curve... For the future look into A. I And Machine learning. But that's for the near distant future my friend. Good luck to you.

Network doesn’t really interest me tbh and I heard you don’t even need to do it to get Security.

Understanding the TCP/IP and OSI Models will do you huge advantages when moving on to Security. Understanding technologies like Ethernet, IP, TCP, how they all work together and run on top of Physical Media like Twisted Pair, Optical Fiber, Coax is invaluable. I used to be a Telecom Engineer and often times the basics saved my ass. You'd be working on a problem and then you'll think...let me take it to the basics:

Physical Layer...let me check the cables and crimps.
Data Layer...let me see if there is a MAC conflict...is my switch working properly?
Network Layer...am I using the right CIDR block? Is my Router functioning?

It just really makes shyt simple and when you get into security you start getting into Transport, Session, Presentation, and Application layers and if you don't understand that shyt before you get into the course you will be playing catch up.

I see now. The A+ actually covered a little bit of network materials like TCP/IP and fiber, coax and twisted cables so I’m pretty familiar with those. I know two people that have network plus so I will get in touch with them to gain more hands on knowledge.

nikka how TF you gonna understand security if you don’t know Network? People like you get these Certs and you get on the job and don’t know shyt. I see it time and time again...y’all are devaluing Certs. This dude had a CCNA verified online I told this muhfukka to draw a switch and demonstrate how it works...he had no clue. Freaking joke!
get it by any means, the game is the game :yeshrug:
