No..I deal with people, professionally and personally, who think long and hard on how to manipulate social/cultural conditions to benefit agendas.
Retirement of the old social norms is something that is necessary for a new social order to be effective. The question does have important merits and deserves thought imo.

My answer is the same because no man is an island. I may be self sustaining, self sufficient, and may not need a man per se. I will always want one.

I have more than a few female co-workers, who are now in their 40s, who say someone fukked up the dating/marriage world. They say the message of equality has been misconstrued, and young brehs are feeling like they need to make up for the previous generations' fukkups, sexism, etc.They don't really want to do that, so they've pulled out of the marriage market altogether. Now, there's a boatload of young girls who are now young women who grew up being told they can have it all, and now they're mad at dudes who don't want to marry them. I told a woman at work who was lamenting this once that "just as you going on dates with someone doesn't oblige you to sleep with them, your bf being in a relationship with you doesn't oblige him marrying you" which didn't go over well at all 
Saw an interesting Fox video about the plummeting marriage rates in the US, where one woman was basically saying "we need to understand why young men don't want to marry and have kids anymore" while the other was all "they need to man up, propose and commit!" Woman A was saying "that condescending lecturing is what led us here to begin with, and if that's all you can do, it's going to continue."
For what it's worth, I don't believe anyone's out to get me I want a family someday. I'm wifing the woman I meet who understands we're not the same, but that's doesn't mean anyone is being devalued
