Employers gotta step up. This is the side of capitalism they won't like. It falls apart without a strong workforce.

It also means many employers will go under. That's another part they won't like. Everything is sweet as long as there is somebody's neck to keep your own foot on.

We won't but they do this sort of thing all the time. We probably get 1 or 2 people a week who just stop coming in. A lot of times they are trying to do unemployment fraud. Then maybe once or twice a month we get people who show their ass. These people are perpetual poor, don't have cars and can't keep their phones on.

This culture of quiting and low work ethic is super toxic and destructive.

Work places HAVE to change

You know shyts fukked up when illegal immigrants are leaving the jobs, and those positions are vacant for months on end.

There are definitely things that have to change, but that's not what I am referring to.

But as for Gen Z quite a few of them are leaving jobs for BS reasons. These aren't corporate jobs...most of gen Z are teens or barely in their 20s.

I'm not a boomer. And I manage these people. They always try to come back after they emotionally quit. I would say 65% of the time because in reality they can't actually hold down jobs.

We had a guy quit because he didn't want to work weekend. He went to another company out of spite and working weekends for that company is mandatory and the pay less. He is already trying to come back.

If you think the majority of these people are "strategically" quitting you're delusional. It's majority emotional. Big grown irresponsible children.

Covid showed many folks they could do better so they acted on it. I notice many right wingers think they are sitting at home collecting unemployment checks. There is a minority of individuals doing this yes. But most folks either went to school or sought out higher pay because of their experience. Which folks routinely do and have for decades. Now it's in larger numbers and it's a problem. A great many employers see the writing on the wall. That $9/ hr shyt isn't gonna cut it anymore.

Notice reducing unemployment pay didn't lead to some big employment surge at the low paying gigs.

Yup they do it so much that now you can pre-deny unemployment as an employer. But we never fire people (unless they do something off the wall). We keep you active until they formally quit. So if the state calls we just let them know the person is still an employee they just stop coming to work. We haven't been scammed yet.

The Baby Boomers will be totally gone from the workforce in the next 3-5 years. The aging Gen X already lacks the authoritarian drive like the greedy boomers, and Gen Y hitting their stride in making $$$ and keeping their dignity and sanity.
