What you are referring to is the "soap opera effect" which makes film based content look like it was shot it a handhled camera.
Its not the 120hz that is causing it
If a television screen has a refresh rate of 120Hz (120 frames per second) but the television is going to display film that was recorded at the standard 24 frames per second, the vendor must figure out a way to fill in an extra 94 frames each second.

The commercial name given to motion interpolation depends on the vendor. Sony calls it MotionFlow, LG calls it TruMotion, Toshiba calls it ClearFrame, Mitsubishi calls itSmooth120Hz and JVC calls it Clear Motion Drive. Some vendors also refer to it as anti-judder.
this is the woat setting i hate it
that shyt is a bytch trying to find it on dif tvs

On my tv its just 1 option u have to turn off under settings...not exactly rocket science
I'm not saying it "should" be hard. I'm just saying in every case
The person didn't know they had the option, and they person never found the option once the topic was brought up
Just something I have observed

1. 120hz can add lag because it is not true refresh in tvs, just simulated and processed. they are inserting fake frames which adds lag. if you want a fast ass screen, get a pc monitor

2. your tv or blu ray player should have the ability to run a movie in 24 frames. turn off all processing stuff on your tv, calibrate it with a calibration disc (i recommend disney wow) and you wont need any special presets

3. Best low-lag HDTVs for serious gamers - CNET
the very best gaming tv reviewed was the first sony they showed, it was also the tv used in early ps4 advertising. with its lag, it should only be one frame of animation slower than the gaming device connected to it. this tv is a beast

I really dont enjoy the higher 120 refresh rate as compared to a 60 on movies, shyt makes watching movies feel so awkward
you know every tv like that has a setting to turn it off right???

usually is like low, medium, high, off setting

i used to hate it.. but if you think about it.. that's what HD is.. making you feel like you actually right there in the movie with them. sometimes it's a little TOO real and you just waiting to see the director walk across the screen and yell cut

but now that i'm used to it cause all my tvs got it, regular tv now looks fukked up and grainy/jumpy to me

If people didn't like it, I'm sure they wouldn't be selling them and making them standard. It's not just led. LCD and plasma have this effect now

Trust me. You get used to it. And people come over like daaaaaaaamn it looks so realistic. It's just hard to get used to

I knew I wasn't going crazy when I notice that effact. We was watching Game of Thrones and I was like why does it look like this. It looks weird. I tried so hard to come up with the terminology to describe it.

So it's the 120 hz refresh rate?

I don't like it. Especially in movies with a lot of a special effects

I hate it. Movies don't look cinematic. It looks like it was filmed with a Handycam. Not to mention it introduces so many motion artifacts.

Yeah that's why I don't use it for movies but some tv shows I think it looks good on gives parks and Rec that soap opera effect.
