I could say never, but honestly -- I'm always frightful of one bad medical expense away from being "homeless" in the US. I put homeless in quotations because I do have family I can rely on(not bragging, but it's a privilege I have compared to the unfortunate souls who are homeless), but I might as well be homeless for the fact that I would feel like a bum living on someone else's dime with major debt.

Yall gon be suprised when it comes time to call in those family favors. Family is savage. They might appear happy to take you in but they really not.

I've never been homeless, but Ive worked with the population in various capacities over the years. First thing I did when I got a stable job was find an affordable house to own. Food, clothing, shelter.

Anyone can become homeless, it’s not really a choice but circumstance.


However it’s one of my greatest fears, to the point I have a savings account that is reserved for two things incase I hit rock bottom or medical issue comes up.


I got really ill in 2014, couldn’t even function for a year and needed assistance. Thank god for my family. I couldn’t imagine going through that alone and having to also worry about rent

Facts this happened to a breh of mine before I met him. Dude had a scholarship college paid for rooms and board. Family bragging on him. Failed microbiology one semester then made some D’s the next. Lost his full ride and he could pay no matter how many loans he tried to get. Family turned on him and he was saying in shelters. He is doing more than good now he would be a “coli cert” but once he got back in his feet it was never the same between him and his family. And the crazy thing is he is Mexican the supposed most family oriented ethnicity.

Facts. My first cousin fell on hard times and the entire family was throwin salt on him like he was a bum. I know they'd do it to me.

Im the one everyone comes to for help during tough times, but seriously doubt I could call any of them if I needed somewhere to go. And my family is "close."

And also, homelessness doesn't necessarily mean sleeping on the street. If you couch surfin or not have stable housing, you are classified as homeless.

I got rejected from multiple homeless shelters because of my criminal record

naw...got too much family with money.....plus its not in my nature to pass up a hustle....i will always have a roof over my head....

I'm running out of options. I just got evicted 28th.

I'm sleeping on my uncles couch, but I can't stand this environment when he's using.

I got an interview Thursday that could pay me decently, 30k plus benefits , and I've got the exact experience they want so we'll see.

Didn’t get that job but my boy hooked me up with a marijuana trimming gig in October that pays just as much. Now I’m on track to start growing in a few months because the company wants to promote from within, which is gonna pay 60-80k a year. I lucked out so much, and it really matters who you know. I don’t think I would have ever went out and networked enough to land anything.
