We're resistant to it due to 60 years of corporate propaganda. You could agree that modern America was built on being the antithesis of communism or anything relating to national socialism.

Also, racial inequality in America is still a useful tool when it comes to distracting us from the increasing economic inequality in this country.

Well you're kind of saying what I'm saying. With the embargo lifted there's more access to goods and services, until it got put back in. Cuba is still one of the top countries with high union membership

Labor unions, or trade unions as they are known in Europe, are organizations formed by workers in order to represent their collective interests, particularly in relation to wages and working conditions.

The socialism doesn't feel as oppressive in Cuba because private business is still allowed to operate but generally its union or Co op. Workers have a stake in the business so they're less likely to leave and more likely to vote for policies that will keep the business going. Under a non union model, there's no reason for a ceo with a net worth of over 100 million to care if the business fails. As enron and the 2008 financial crises have shown us, in an economic disaster the rich leave unscathed or in a better position. They don't get arrested and they can retire with more money than your entire neighborhood has.

I think Americans are too used to at least feeling like they have a voice.

Authoritarianism will eventually come if we don't get rid of the anti democratic parts of our system like the Supreme Court, electoral college or federal courts that are staffed by unelected officials.

But I don't see it coming as communism, I see it coming as white fascism but then that fascism will collapse as Americans still want to be individuals and don't want to be dominated.

It's a myth that America and western and Eastern Europe were disgusted by antisemitism. They didn't care. It was known that jews were being shot in the street, jailed without cause and deported against their will. They knew and didn't care because they subscribed to the same ideas due to the popularity of social darwinism and eugenics. The Germans were different because they married that blatant racism and hatred with industrial scale weapons and killing methods.

The response to their antisemitism is more like "you're not actually supposed to kill all the people you use as a scapegoat you dummies. Just use them as a political football. Don't ACTUALLY try to kill them all" and Hitler was highly inspired by what America did to the native Americans.

I think the recipe is there. We have anti democratic structures, scape goats, economic turmoil, and an enduring love of individualistic capitalism. Capitalism's defense mechanism when it's threatened is authoritarianism. If trade unions started popping up more in China, that would be considered a threat to the CCPs power and we would get a tianemen square remix with a lot more dead.

Ironically that would tank china's economy because they cannot afford to lose more people due to an aging work force with less and less children to replace them.
