Do you think there is a disconnect between corny black men and black women?

Corny black men need to get over being called corny. Being corny isn’t part of our culture, regardless of the particular ethnicity. Go get some confidence in whatever you’re good at and be comfortable.

As for women, men don’t care if women are corny. Do you look good? Do I trust you to raise a family?

There's a disconnect between BW and BM (in a general level)--but because brehs on here feel like they're corny, yall are mostly focusing on how BW are disconnected with corny brehs. In reality there are a portion of brehs and brehettes of all kinds who are discconected from each other. Even on this site, I read threads when yall attempt to speak for us and try to explain how we feel and why we do what we do and it's never really that accurate but yall sure think it is.

And I'm sure if I was to go that fukked up LSA site there would be a lot of examples of how BW don't really get yall/understand yall either.

Overall, I just think there is a lot of disconnection, especially online, brehs and brehettes are too busy blaming each other, looking for ways to assert how they're a victim of the other group, whining, complaining, expressing frustration and anger, making assumptions and projections, putting nonblacks on a pedestal, and competing with each other. No one is really trying to understand the other or willing to make changes to connect with each other better than we are.

I think there's always been a push/pull tension between men and women though on general level--but I think the gender dynamics in this country in general are in weird place and in our community our dynamics are compounded by other issues--so it's worse for us (for now anyway). BM and BW used to be able to connect with each other a bit more and relate to each other but over time our community's changed.

this the the gist of the whole issue....

as a black man though...

i see how our community being a matriarchy allows women to control the narrative

so the pusback from decades of "black men ain't shyt" being mainstream is understandably immense

Yes. The corny men don’t like their corny female counterparts and play victim to justify who they desired in the first place: non-blk women. Because that’s who’ll give them the social validation they need to gain the popularity or desirability they didn’t have growing up due to them being socially awkward. :yeshrug:
Corny males feel the same way about blk women.:mjlol:
Both sides think they better than one another.:mjlol:

Problem is, black folk gotten too carried away with superficial swag for the last 30 some odd years, and it wrecked us at a fundamental level. Not saying that black men have to be Steve Urkel or Carlton Banks status, just that the superficial standards such as a crisp hairline, expensive kicks, mouthpiece, social clout centered on materialistic items, and athletic ability does not build generational wealth or a solid family structure @Benjamin Sisko @mamba

Because of that, a lot of black marriages never even came to being because of modern superficial standards. In some people's minds, you gotta be Future status just to have an active social life :why:

Depends..

You can't be square and weak and passive.

Depends on the traits you have....corny square dudes with real nikka/alpha whatever you wanna call it, energy and aggressive qualities will eat

Yeah, and its best to be on the aggressive shyt on things that ACTUALLY MATTER. Like making money to invest, saving, living below your means, going to the gym, and other constructive things. Not on buying materialistic shyt when you pushing 40.
