This was a fluff peice. They never got into numbers just anecdotal stories of the few that made it.

Reparations still are due. I don’t care if every black American was a millionaire we still owed a check.

As the end credits showed, this was all put together by a white woman from France. I got all I needed to know from the first Guy who is mixed with a white wife. I even showed a cat supposedly buying a house from a reality TV star. Meanwhile I saw that same guy on an episode of House hunters a few days ago. This was definitely feel good fluff especially based on the comments.

Black people in the US are going backwards economically and politically. 2% of Black households achieving millionaire status doesn't change that or the fact that black people live shorter lives, have lower median incomes, and have a median net worth approaching 0. The number of American households achieving millionaire status is 10%+ vs. our 2%. I'm not here for participation trophies.

That's what I really hate about these documentaries. They undermine the fact that our people are really struggling to highlight outliers. They even dress up trash ass statistics like 1/50 black families are millionaires (when I think 1/7 white families are millionaires) to make it seem like we're really doing well out here and you got less numerically inclined folks out here regurgitating this nonsense like it's supposed to be empowering. It's disgusting.

These millionaire blacks? If you say so. I would think it would be more upper middle blacks, not multi millionaires, who do most of the reaching back.​

These people can only see big money.

A million-aire here in Chicago just gave away 1 million dollars in gas around the city. Pervis Span just had his funeral yesterday and he's helped many common people. The problem is people are not accepting living "OK" these days. If they're not a million aire, then they're a broke bumb. And thats ok to believe that. But you have way more people living basic lives off of the help of other successful black people.

The average black household is headed to a net worth of zero over the next 30 years. There's nothing to be positive about when talking about wealth in this community until that changes. And don't ever get it twisted, I'm happy for any black person finding a way in this society. That still doesn't change the reality of our collective.
